Dev notes-Vehicle, equipment loadout changes for season 7

Just the juicy bits from the notes-there are more changes coming in season 7 update but they didnt reveal anything else.

AA Changes-40mm cannon removed, range of main cannon reduced, lock on from y axis removed.

Increased cooldown time for flares

Antitank mines will have a 2 sec arming time

C5 reduced from 3 to 2 for recon and assault, engineers will have access to 3

Caspers drone will now only spot vehicles and infantry EMP has been removed.

Season 7 updates for vehicles and loadouts

  • Removing the 40mm cannon from the Wildcat is a good thing as it will really narrow down the vehicles purpose to what it should be, an AA vehicle. No more people using the that vehicle slot to hunt enemy tanks and infantry and let it deal with the air threats instead.
They should add APS to the wildcat though.

@MADMAC50KThe only engineer nerf is being unable to fling mines for easy instant 60-80 damage and having to use them as actual mines. Engineers get +1 rocket for all launchers (dunno if this includes Liz yet?) and they keep the 3 C5s.

I am confused about the Y-axis lock on. What does it talk about?

Is this about the lock on range on the Y axis or the vertical (aka Y-axis) turret angle limits?

Also the casper drone should still be able to EMP gadgets just like the BF3/4 MAV

    LOL !   =>

we are increasing the time before a vehicle can be hacked,”

Why not just remove Rao completely at this point.

@UP_HawxxeyeFor some reason, in 2042 up to this point the wildcat (and I think also the javelin?) lock on in a cylinder around you, rather than a bubble. It doesn't matter how high something is, only the distance along the ground. You may remember this was also the case for the TUGS spotting people way above it. This can let the wildcat (with a 600m radius cylinder) lock on to a jet flying up that's 1000m+ away because the cylinder is very/infinitely high.

Thankfully Redacted is still a (great) option 🙂

@VOLBANKER_PC  For the time being yeah, I won't be surprised if they take down the Redacted Conquest playlist to feature their new map. So enjoy it while it lasts before it disappears in the muddy matchmaking pool of Conquest 64 with it's great persistent servers and map rotation.

  • The Casper drone nerf is a huge disappointment. Was this necessary?

This totally changes the way I play and support my team.

I'm not a Casper sniper. I sit on point and drone/disable equipment/spot until  I need to help rush or defend.

I can't see why I'd use Casper now.
