I get what you're saying but that would just be a band-aid on the REAL problem, we need a server and persistent servers period.
This goofy matchmaking needs to be consigned to the "Very Bad Idea" file.

But this would be a server browser with persistent servers offering the official experience on all main game modes.
All Dice have to do is make the server stay up instead of the 7 day limit.
It's not a band aid, it's a solution.
In past games players could still use Quick match which is a different flavour of MM while the rest of us just clicked the menu option for the Browser options.
My suggestion would be no different.

Like I said I understand what you're saying but a server browser with persistent servers have more than one function other than just a map rotation.
#1. - The ability to favorite servers that you have a good connection to and enjoy playing with the players there. (particularly useful if they ever decide to support the Clan/Platoon element of Battlefield again by letting them "rent" servers, which would be nice)
#2. - The ability to set and search within certain parameters such as ping limits, if I had a choice, I wouldn't even look at a server with over a 100ms ping..
#3 - The ability to see what map/mode is playing at the moment, how many players there are and how many tickets are left so you don't end up joining a match that is literally about to end.
In a perfect world bring back the rental server program with the ability to admin them. Let players decide where and with who they play with and how.
And before somebody throws out the "BUT BaDmINs!" stuff yes it happens, it's the internet, goobers are gonna be goobers, make a note of it, move on and just don't play on that server anymore. Prior Battlefields STILL have well admined servers that have stood the test of time and are still very popular to this day.
*EDIT*
Just to be clear I support what you're proposing, what I am arguing is it doesn't go far ENOUGH.
- 3 years ago@Ironhead841 I'm not disagreeing, it would be nice to have those additional features but at this point in time I think most of us would be happy with a browser that looks like the one we had in V.
And like I said originally, it seems like it would be fairly straightforward to achieve.
Then if the game continues to receive support they could look to making further improvements.
