DICE Thanks For This Mindless Run-And-Gun No Class System.

What's the point of having classes when I can create a super specialists to handle all 4 classes Recon,Assault,Support and Engineer.

  • They are stupid and it's only going to get worse with whatever dumb decisions that are going on for this universe EA is talking about

@Stew360 Said everything, and I agree. I can't understand how a guy comes to say that it killed teamplay, this argument doesn't enter my head since you can do the same things as the old games, it's no use having the old classes, picks up the Medic and says "Now I need to revive everyone, I'm on Medic" that never existed, the guy who wants to play seriously he chooses according to the game, I play as I see the team's problems, if almost no one is reviving I go with Angel or Falck just to do this, and one detail, I can play focused on it even with the weapons I like, and not get stuck in a lock

The old class system defiantly needs to comeback. Classes are a core component of the BF experience. If they want to do a hero shooter then they can make an off shoot BF franchise (or even use Hardline or Bad Company) and make that a game that delivers a different BF experience. Then they could alternate the releases of these games, where one year a the game delivering the traditional Battlefield experience is released and a year or two later, the hero shooter, or the game delivering whatever new creative experience they want to try is released.

This is essentially what Activision has done with COD. Modern Warfare has become the franchise that offers the “traditional COD experience”, while Black Ops delivers an experience that is over the top, unconventional and chalk full of customization.

Or, if they really want to keep specialists in this game they should take a page out of Battlefront, and make the specialists force multipliers, and limited to only one specialist type on the ground per team. If you gain a certain amount of kill streaks, or perform a certain set of tasks with out dying, or achieve a certain XP threshold without dying, you can choose to become any specialist you want, so long as that specialist isn’t currently deployed on the map, by someone else on your team. Once you die using a specialist, you respawn as a normal class, and try to climb the ladder again to unlock a specialist. Rinse and repeat.
  • I agree completely. I argued with someone on the Steam boards about how the Class system really is the biggest staple of BF. The other being vehicle play. Why change that? Why create a CoD clone?

EA made a huge mistake changing the formula for what made BF so great. BF is for purists. Class squad play is dead. Let's not mention the fact you can't even create/switch squads. smh. This attempt at shoehorning BF in to the mainstream is too corporate and may damage the BF franchise for years to come. Bad move EA. BF already had a loyal and anticipatory following. I'm sure they saw that in the pre-order numbers.

What they could have done was have the 4 Classes that are in BF4 and have 3 Avatars for each Class. Then have unique skin unlocks for each Avatar to allow for Class and Avatar replayability. You could then choose 1 of the 3 class specific gadgets along with class specific equipment. More XP options. All you had to do was build off of BF4. You could have created a Class Specialist system and I guarantee it would have been a hit. Best of both worlds.

    Honestly EA. For shame.
