I think the big problem is once again the marketing.
2042 whas marketet as a spritual successor to BF3/BF4 with classic "Battlefield Moments" in the trailers and promos.
Giving us the expectation that it would be the classic Battlefield gameplay on a larger scale.
Instead imagine if it where marketed as a spin-off game like Hardline or Bad Company the expectation would be totaly different and player would accept the gameplay for what it's designed for.
And the feeling is that is what it whas originaly designed to be ,"Battlefield: Hazard Zone", but maybe on the way it did not pan out as they planed, paniced and jammed conquest and breakthrough into it.

@Blackidus yeah the marketing is misleading. I liked the beta map a lot, but watching people play the game, it looks like it might be the only one thats any good as a whole. I'm also not seeing the same level of explosions and such in the marketing material.
IDK. To me this is the closest we've had to the classic games of old, but like others have said, I don't want to wait 6 months hoping they fix all the various issues...just in time to start developing the next game lol.
