@filthy_vegans It's not just about the Christmas skins though, it's about the whole game itself. How bad the launch was, what little content we got in the base game, the performance issues across all platforms, the cringe lines, the feedback from the community that isn't really being listened to, the deadspace in maps, the lack of good features that were in previous BF titles at launch, amongst other things. And on top of that, a lot of people paid a lot of money for this. Everyone one of those people who paid for gold and ultimate editions, heck, even standard editions of this game should expect the game to work and be content filled and meet the expectations of those people. This doesn't meet the expectations of many people. Remember, they're making the game for us. We're the ones paying. We have a right to demand better for the money we're paying them.

None of that justifies the kind of behaviour that I would scold my children for.

You'd scold your children for complaining about spending £80 on a product and getting something broken and sub-par in return? Great parenting skills! Seriously though, if you think this thread is simply about a single skin, you're missing the point. People have every right to air their grievances and should.

I'd scold my children for behaving like spoilt little * having a meltdown in a supermarket over whether or not they get barbecue sauce or ketchup for their dino nuggies.

I was just trying to be humorous (failing) to illustrate a point. Maybe there have been some posts in the thread that are a bit brat-ish but I think in general people are just expressing a valid point of view in a reasonable way. There are people who have been fans of the franchise for 19 years now. They're disappointed at seeing it in this state and seeming to lose it's identity trying to be something else and just ending up being a poor shadow of what it was. I don't think it's fair to blanket label everyone in the thread as a spoiled child for just rightfully expressing their opinion and annoyance for what they've been given for their hard earned money.
The skin is just a representation of a complete change of tone and direction that people don't like. You pointed out the skins from previous games - it looks like they were just the thin end of the wedge. You can say, well get over it, EA is a business, they have a responsibility to their shareholders to maximise profit etc. But that's just shrugging at the corporate world taking yet another good thing that people enjoyed and turning it into a bland empty commodity. I think people have every right to be angry about it.
