It's always done that.. especially on hour glass. Its totally random when it happens. I was in that area at the start of the match no issues. Then came back to it and it starts becoming a slide show. It's also totally random locations. It's not map area specific.
I wonder why DICE hasn't been able to figure out what's causing the game to freeze up like that on Xbox. It's been half a year now and the game still freezes just like it did on day one.
Does 2042 freeze and stutter on ps5 too?

@OskooI_007It’s buttery smooth on PS4. All maps. I really enjoy the game. I am not trolling. Maybe you have a hardware problem or internet connection problem?

Or maybe we are not talking about old gen consoles...

It runs fine for me on my next generation hardware.
The PS4/XBOX ONE version(s) of the game is literally an inferior version and not the "full" experience of Battlefield 2042.
1. You have limited crossplay whereas next generation has full crossplay. You don't even have the option to play with PC gamers if you wanted to because the PS4 and XBOX ONE simply aren't powerful enough.
2. You lose out on 128 player matches and are throttled at 64 players. Even when you buy the game we literally have a different version than you do that costs more due to the content and capabilities of the game,
3. Your maps have to be shrunken down.
And its just not nearly as fast and powerful as the next generation experience among other things. Here's an article about the last generation limitations:

Yes, you have people complaining about the game. In fact, a ton of people are complaining about the game. It almost seems like these forums were made for complainers. Those of us who are playing the FULL game on our next generation systems with next to no issues aren't going to be here bashing the game simply because we are too busy enjoying the game. Its common sense when you think about it.
So the discontent you see on forums dedicated to complaints are not emblematic of everyone's true experience with the game. I play Battlefield 2042 literally everyday, the full Battlefield 2042 game @ 128 players, with not even half as many issues as I hear complained about on this board.

Some can be lucky and hardly ever, if even ever, experience these kind of performance issues, while other players appear to suffer from them almost on chronic basis.
It appears to be related to a couple of things in combination. The server location that you play on and the type and number of players connected to that very same server as when you are on it. E.g. some servers have mainly just 'local' players on them for a given time range during the day. While then in certain low server tide times, then many out of region players with high ping are joining into the mix. And THAT is what appears to trigger these server lags/rubberbanding episodes to happen. Especially because EA/DICE have not applied any upper ping rate threshold on their servers. Or certainly if they have, its above 1800 milli seconds as that is so far the highest ping rates I have noted when asking some of those Out or Region players to report back on their ping rates to my European server location (Rotterdam NL and/or Dusseldorf Germany).
Personally I have only experienced them on PS5 when playing on full 128 player servers, while never so far on the old gen 64 player environments for this BF2042 game. Maybe just because of pure luck, cannot tell, but that has been my experience so far. And the group of 20-25 players I often play with have reported same observations.
While on the old BF4 game, its a daily/hourly experience when joining a 64-player server with many out of region players in the mix.

No stutters on the PS5 has been reported so far, and personally I have not experienced it on both Series X and PS5.
(there are reports that it only stutters on the Xbox during a download/upload in the background)

Yep. I'm on Xbox One and we have the same performance issues as PS4.
There's always some people out there who claim they have no issues on last gen but I honestly don't believe them or they really are just oblivious to the poor performance and micro stuttering when they play.
