Its the 5th best selling game of all of 2021 across all platforms. (Roughly 4.2 million copies sold - The second best selling battlefield title of all time)
It was the 4. best selling game on both Playstation and xbox in all of December (Thats after all the ins and outs were known)
If anything it is a massive success for EA.
What EA did with 2042 is absolutely disgusting, EA's 2042 Business Plan:
Use 2042 as an excuse to cut development on 2 Battlefield games
Begin with false information of expectations of 2042 (then BF6)
Lie to the Battlefield community at every step of development of 2042 with the use of:
MIsleading the community with complete BS video trailers
Complete sensationalism 2042 inverviews between Battlefield community managers and lead developers from DICE.
False information concerning the Beta
False information concerning the state of the game
Release 2042 with so many core features missing that it doesn't resemble a Battlefield title.
Refusing refunds once players realised how absolutely buggy and unoptimised the game is.
Go radio silent since the 16 Dec except to tell the community that there expectations are BRUTAL
It is absolutely criminal what they have done here and they have no excuse, except the truth that they don't give a * about the Battlefield Franchise and I think the damage that they have done is irreversible.

It's leaked internal numbers from the first week of sales.
They would have absolutely no reason to pad those numbers as the numbers weren't even supposed to have been published. They were for the team at EA only, but got leaked.
