DualSense Adaptive Triggers support in BF2042

Dear community and developers,

As far as I believe, Battlefield games have always been about immersion in the total war: feeling of chaos, vehicles, weapons, gadgets and so on. And PlayStation 5 focuses on a player’s immersion in games with its 3D audio, DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It’s so great to see the first two to be realized in the game. However, there is still no adaptive triggers support that allows you to feel tension and identity when firing different guns, using gadgets and controlling vehicles and aircrafts. In my view, that would take the immersion aspect of the game for PS5 players onto another level. I completely understand competitive players who feel that tension in the triggers increases their reaction time and ability to fire as soon as they spot an enemy, but this category of players can freely enjoy the way they like to play with adaptive triggers being turned off in the game’s settings.

I would really like to hear what you think!

  • @Great_Tarrra i was actually thinking the same during the Beta.

But Beta wise we can't even say yet if the final game also won't have it for sure as the Beta was like a 1 month old build of the game. So things might changed. 🤨

Maybe we'll see a setting option to simply turn it ON/OFF.

Even tho, especially cause of the competitive reasons you just mentioned we might won't get it i guess. Maybe some people casual players would then complain about it that it makes things even harder.

Who knows maybe it's even difficult to implement this function at all.

We'll see at release then. 😉

    Greets,

    Travis
