Dying while the game is over?

Question

I don't know what weirdo came up with that, but it was never like that before in BF2042. So when the game is over you can just throw a grenade at people and it will go off and it will count as dead. I think whoever came up with that is really insane.... I think it's fine if you die, but I think it's unfair if it's still seen as dead even though the game is over, what does that mean. So you can still get unjustified kills when the game is over. I think they should remove that option because it has no more value or extra addition to the game. I often notice that useless options are added to the game while it has no added value for anyone.

@Steff_Blackson I believe this is best not to be addressed at all. Most likely the root cause is the server lag. While for you it appears the round endet, it still was ongoing for the client that threw the grenade.
In my experience, when they try to fix an issue that may happen in maybe 2 seconds of match, has a high potential to have a negative impact on the other 1200 seconds (20min) of a match.
Server lag already is responsible for "thrown explosives vanishing" when die, because the bullet that killed you was from the "past" before you threw the grenade.

@Steff_Blackson If you have a throwing knife cocked and ready to throw, and the game ends, the animation completes and you throw the knife. If an enemy is in front, they will get killed. I’ve done it a few times, I can imagine it’s frustrating as heck to die after the game freezes at the end mark. I can’t explain how or why it works. You’d think the freeze would affect all things. I’ve seen it where a vehicle keeps rolling at that freeze, and gets a road kill from someone who can’t move. It’s not intentional I’m sure but it’s hilarious to watch.

Once I became aware, it was crazy to see just how many people do end up dying at the very end of a round.
I always love moments like going for a knife or an enemy and I just meeting around a corner, riddling eachother with bullets and it just ends, like oooooo *wags finger* not today hehe.

It doesn't affect the outcome of the match but the fact it counts towards your KD really bugs me

I thought this thread was about the game itself dying while it is over lol.

At this point, it doesn't matter. KD is meaningless, especially because you can be rezzed.

Also, this is not a competitive game, so does it honestly matter if a number is different on a screen?
