@LordVader666it's also like they are intentionally antagonizing players by only "allowing" players to play in the manner in which they want the players to play (referring to having 24/7 maps for some modes and not others)
That really annoyed me as well when a dev on Twitter was trying to explain how complicated it would be to have all options of game available and people be lile “B4 Server browser search”.
literally region, map, game type, player count, server name search parameters.
They have now outwardly stated that they missed the creative mark with this title. The problem is that someone or everyone thought going the Apex route was the right call. If you look at some of the management/directors/producers involved, you will know exactly why they went this route. If they could, I am sure they would've added rainbows, unicorns, customized lipstick and fingernails, and that is not a joke. Go look them up.
The game has a player count 1/30th of COD/WZ and that can go as high as 1/60th at COD's peak. That is absolutely insane. BF is not in direct competition with COD, but it does take players away because it is comparable. COD has always been more popular (for some odd reason), but back in the day, BF was a lot closer.
The biggest issue I see is that you can't play BF like you want to. This game needs a Server Browser or it will die by Season 4.

they expect to dictate how we play (what maps we get to play and when). idk how they don't expect people to get pissed off at this approach.
- 3 years ago@Adamonic I am about done with it after Season 2!
- Adamonic3 years agoLegend@CantGetRight I might not make it that far. I literally have zero interest to play. I am barely getting the weeklies done, normally just enough to complete the bonus mission even if a few are not completed.
Looking back at the arc of this game, this all came down to profit margins. Dev time = less profits. So if you can get a title out the door as fast as possible with the shortest amount of dev time, you can cut the losses considerably. Then after it launches, you put most of that dev crew on another title and only leave the smallest amount of devs as humanly possible to maintain the title for the remainder of the lifecycle. That is exactly what we are seeing in BF2042. Hell, with the radio silence, I would not be surprised if the CMs were back clearing the Jira backlog.
