I enjoyed the Premium Pass way better than what we have currently.
The guarantee of 4 new maps / weapons etc every 3 months really kept the games fresh, I would go back to premium in a heartbeat.
I am sad they don't do that model anymore. I really liked paying and getting my money's worth.

Enders made an interesting point in a recent video about how even if they bring back premium it might not be as bountiful as the older premiums nor will it be able to necessarily bind DICE to keep developing more than 1 year of content (cause 1 year is promised in the expensive editions)

So pretty much from this point on, we are lucky to get 4 new maps per game cycle if they keep that model. What happen to the gaming that I loved?

I'm glad he has played the new game, here's to hoping he likes playing it alone!

Battlefield is in an unfortunate position. EA now lives and dies by the hype and pre-orders. Every game is tied to revenue and profit and not customer satisfaction.
So they release games that are minimally viable at the time of release and they use bug fixes and patches as updates.
In order to increase their profit margin, they have to reduce labor (developer hours) to a point that ensures they are profitable.
That is exactly why they pulled the plug on BF2042 literally a month after launch. We had a 6+ month gap with nothing while the skeleton crew broke down the original Season 1 content into 4 seasons. Then they finished partially made maps and released them one by one for Seasons 5-7. Also, remember no new Specialists after Season 4.They are clearly repeating the same process for the next title.
I have a funny feeling they are going to add something else to pre-orders to entice people to buy it. Normally it is early access or something like that. I bet they add some exclusive stuff like a weapon or attachments that you can only get thru pre-order. Pay to win. That would be dirty, but all they care about is the pre-order quarter revenue.

He might be excited all he wants..good for him.....happy happy joy joy.
But i see this as a big propaganda show...and do NOT! believe a word he says.
They sold a unfinished and totaly broken product to their customers....nope, not falling for it.

It became very profitable so the same kind of people that buy fast food chains and slowly make the burgers ever smaller (and will probably replace pork and beef with rat venison), took over

Historically DICE’s strategy has been to create a good game and then throw in a gimmick or two to help sell the game:
In Battlefield 4 it was Levolution.
In Battlefield 1 it was Elite soldier kits as well as Behemoths.
In Battlefield 5 it was buildable defenses as well as the V1 rocket.
In Battlefield 2042 it was weather effects as well as Specialists.
However, in recent years - perhaps since the EA takeover of DICE - things have felt differently.
It seems that DICE is now being viewed less as a game producing studio and more as a business unit.
Game-related decisions are now being made, not primarily from the viewpoint of making a good game, but from how they can contribute to maximize profits.
Thus Battlefield as a game has now almost become of secondary concern.
It’s sad to witness this as a Battlefield player.
