EA mistakenly banned my account and is still holding back on letting me appeal.

Hey everyone,

I’m writing this out of frustration and hoping to get some advice or support. A few weeks ago, my Battlefield 2042account was permanently banned by EA. According to their notice, the reasons were:

Using software that interferes with or disrupts an EA service or another user’s account.

Using undocumented features, exploits, or cheats in-game that disrupt EA services or other users.

Using software or cheats that disconnect other users from EA servers.

But here’s what actually happened:

That night, I had just finished the weekly challenges for the new Battle Pass and was playing against AI to practice with vehicles before my sleep. During the session, my internet disconnected about two or three times due to a loose Ethernet cable connection (the cable was old and made poor contact). Since I’m currently living in China, where internet firewalls can cause stability issues, I use a VPN to maintain a stable connection to the game. That night, I switched VPN nodes a couple of times when reconnecting after those drops.

Next thing I know—I’m in the middle of flying a jet against bots, and suddenly I get banned.

I submitted an appeal immediately. The first time, EA didn’t unban me, but at least they provided the specific reasons listed above. However, during the second appeal, EA responded in a very rude and dismissive manner. They refused to review my case further and left it in “Waiting for Studio” status. Now I have no option but to either close the case or just wait indefinitely—with no real solution in sight.

The most frustrating part? I hadn't even finished that week's challenges, and now I've lost all my progress. Losing my BF2042 save data is one thing, but I never even got to claim the in-game rewards for BF6!

I’ve never used cheats, exploits, or any unauthorized software. The ban seems to have been triggered by my network issues and VPN use—things entirely out of my control given where I live.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice on how to escalate this or get a fair review would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

  • Hi KaZamI_GoldShip,

I'm sorry to say that all we can suggest here is to appeal the ban, as you have. The only people who can unban your account are EA's Terms of Service team following a successful appeal.

Since your case is currently with the studio awaiting review, you should hear more from them with an outcome still.

  • The "appeal" process is fake.  Just auto gen replies.  I have been there with my account and no chance anyone looked (if they did they would have known the ban was a false positive).
