I myself would love to see the whole cartoony specialist and their ridiculous "abilities" idea scrapped and proper classes reintroduced.
think the player count and general state of the game show a majority of the players have rejected this new concept.
I know poor map design, missing "legacy" features like server browser and scorecard and buggy gameplay has also affected this but by talking to people and reading here and other places it really seems specialists are uniformally hated by all but a few.
They said pretty early on Specialists were here to say - I hope they can at least make some tweaks to the formula to balance the scales a bit. Flakfire posting something interesting on twitter; it's not aperfect, but it's a great start IMO

@Psubond It was just a quick draft meant to get the ball rolling - Personally, I would have switched up some classes (I think Irish is an actual Engineer for example). I never liked having supply crates thrown all about the maps in V but having air drops in 2042 seems just as bad too so there'd definitely need to be changes.
The hope is, with more dedicated builds, players would be more inclined to go vehicle busting. I'd assume there would also need to be changes to the maximum number of vehicles on a map as well to help balance things more- Psubond4 years agoLegend@TTZ_Dipsy i didn't play V but i love the crates in 2042 and think they are a good addition to the game. plus you give away your position when you use one so there is a down side to it
