EA/DICE respond to backlash

I'm not sure I'd call that a response, more an acknowledgement. I hope there is a formal annoncement in the coming days about what they intend to do.

As for all the comments about "brutal expectations," I think that it was more directed at the "reeeee fix it NOW! WHY HAVEN'T YOU ALREADY FIXED IT!!?!?!??" comments when the devs were on holiday than at the features players are asking for.

@CountSeroYou're kind of victim blaming here- DICE set this BF up to be "ahead of schedule" "128 players" "the test was an old beta, the game will work great on the day" etc. Even with the negative beta feedback they went ahead- most companies with such a negative beta feedback would have delayed to review the target market. As a result it came out broken, and they knew it.

It's not the BF fans fault they are complaining, it's DICE for knowingly selling us a broken game (again). If you want to cut them some slack, then great, enjoy the broken BF7 they will sell you next year, because they rely too much on customers 'cutting them some slack' every time now.

My personal gripe is not the broken game, it's the VERY poor communications to the fanbase about how it will be fixed- that doesn't take a Dev working over Christmas, it takes a PR guy doing basic 101 customer care steps to ensure that the message has been received and  will be acted upon.

The first message from DICE should have been "These are all the issues we have received, we will look at them and get back to you [insert date here] with answer as to what we can do for each issue". This sort of PR doesn't require a Xmas fix, it requires a committent to coming back with answers as to what is possible (not fixes).

No point trying to make the game better - shelve it and move on. The core gameplay mechanics and direction taken are not salvageable. 

You can see by the dwindling player population the game will be dead as a dodo very soon

while i agree that the devs at DICE deserve an uninterrupted christmas break and even a few days to get back into the office and get settled in.
this statement shows a level of tonedeafness not seen since the "don't like it don't buy it"....
releasing a game in the state that 2042 did and then acting shocked at the backlash..... classic EA move

Nostalgia ? no, expecting DICE to make a true Battlefield - yes.

Basically youre saying STEAM stats is lying because those are the numbers most people here use.

I respect you like the game and play it, but you dont need to defend anything if you dont think its a problem, again, as you yourself stated people who likes the game is mostly silent and dont want to argue with "people" like me...... what ever that is ...

I get it.  I said I had no issues with them going on vacation.  This game isn't going to be fixed in two weeks.

What I don't understand is the silence from these games.  It seems like they should be as open as possible if they want to promote good will and any real interest within to community to stick around.

Based on some of the quotes that people have posted on Twitter, i'm suprised anyone involved with the game even bothers to reply or comment on anything. 

And I respect their vacation, problem is. They did it for them selves, people are angry indeed. Next time don't release game in alpha stage and charged people for early access.
