Earnings call transcript, earnings report and quick estimate of copies sold

here is the link to the transcript for the earnings call (Q3 FY22) for all interested.

In the call it was stated that "As originally forecast, the Battlefield franchise would have accounted for significantly less than 10% of this year’s net bookings and well below 5% of next year’s."

net bookings were $2,577,000,000.  so at best BF2042 made $257,700,000.  that is very optimistic, it was likely much less.  if each copy cost users $60 (which is probably low because many people bought the more expensive versions) that means that if they made $258M they sold 4.3M copies.  if the % is closer to 7% they sold 3M copies at $60 bucks a pop.

there are a lot of assumptions there but EA does not historically give sales numbers so that's all i have to go on from the information given.  i think i was conservative on the price because if i were a betting man i'd say that most of the copies sold were sold at full price because the release was so bad who would buy the discounted version after the fact?  if that assesment is accurate the sales numbers are likely a LOT lower than what i wrote above.

they said they were dissapointed with the sales numbers so i think i'm erring very far on the high side of copies sold.

if i messed something up please let me know
