EA's a 10 but they only like playing on 45Hz servers
45Hz Server Tick Rate is part of the playability problem!
Using servers that only transmit data 45 times a second may work perfectly for Candy-Crush but NOT for FPS games like Battlefield. Throw Cross Platform capabilities into the mix, double the max player count to 128 with larger maps and you’ll end up neck deep in what we have right now.
EA/DICE, if 64Hz servers were used at “minimum” a lot of the anomaly’s players are having with movement, hits not registering, hits around corners, and massive incoming damage being delivered in a single instant kill tick (like in the picture above) would decrease drastically. Realistically good AAA FPS games should be shooting for a tick closer 128Hz for smooth gameplay. I really don’t see cross play and 128 player maps being reliably feasible in it's current state. Something has got to give; Cross Play, 128 player count maps, or the Sever Tick Rate. It can’t all be kept smooth and reliable at the current 45Hz.
- @Echo6Echo EA really needs to step up with this.
Channeling my cheesiest Mackay voice “Oh, I’m ready. Hell, I’ve played Battlefield 2042 at 45Hz and it’s all just a roll of the DICE… You get it?”
