Effective advice for air defense

Never leave air defense tasks to individual soldiers. Air defense should be what the Wildcat should do, but the Wildcat's performance capabilities are very poor. In addition to the infinite height-locked anti-air missiles, the Wildcat's self-protection capabilities are also very poor.

First equip Wildcat with active defense(3~4 seconds)   Increased mobility, as flexible as [CAV-Brawler]
Wildcat's opponents should be threats from ground troops/tanks, not air vehicles(At present, it is very easy for armed helicopters to deal with Wildcat)
At the same time, add similar Passive Radar, Active Radar missiles similar to Battlefield4AA(Very important, it determines the upper limit of Wildcat’s air defense capabilities.)
Equip Wildcat with air radar and ground sensors at the same time (choose one of the two)
(At the same time, JET should also be equipped with such a sensitive air radar with a huge scanning range.)
Reduce the dispersion of 30MM anti-aircraft guns, allowing them to kill infantry very quickly within a range of 50~ meters (this is for self-protection, and at the same time, this range is close enough and can still be easily hit by M5/RPG[If Wildcat doesn't even have the protective capabilities to support air defense, then what's the point?])
For 35/30MMAA, some close range damage should also be increased.
do you know? The single shot damage of a 30MM anti-aircraft machine gun to infantry is only 10 🙂

You should refer to Battlefield 4 and add [SA-18], which can also increase the upper limit of air defense.

Please also fix the problem that the vertical distance of the anti-aircraft missile is not limited! (FIM-33 AA Missile/Wildcat anti-air missile)

under normal circumstances ↓
(If these are done, the 20MMAA should be removed from the car)

  • as a person that flies, can i get an admin to delete the OP's post? lmao

all kidding aside,  Wildcats do not need to be buffed, they have insane distance for AA missile target lock on.   If you're flying in a map in a plane, no matter what area (unless its at the edge of the map) you're constantly getting locked on and fired upon from the Wildcats.   as a person who is an intermediate at flying, and depending on the map, and player(s) in the wildcats,  You'd be lucky to be flying for more than a minute and hardly get any kills in.    Obviously people are gonna say "oh its a skill issue"  but when you are trying to gain experience in flying,  this makes it near impossible to do.

@NehkidGramma84Sure the AA missiles of the Wildcat have great distance, but it's easily negated by below radar and the abundant flares.

I just wish the MAA could defend itself against experienced Nightbird pilots and Attack Heli crews deciding to dunk on the MAA. The MAA does too little damage vs the AH now (medium to long distance, from where the AH can shred it accurately) and has too little elevation and turret speed once the nightbird starts circling it with it's AGM's. Once the first AGM hits, the MAA is basically already dead.

This game needs the MAA from BF3 and BF4 imo, minus the reactive armor/active protection.

I think the ideas of the OP are solid, DICE wanted to make the IGLA to work like that in BF4 but because of engine limitations they did not if I recall correctly.

Only thing I heavily disagree with is the proposed MAA damage buff versus infantry and the APS. I'd like to see a MAA that is easily countered by groundforces.

@Wargame_Enj0yer I agree the Wildcat should be able to defend itself against such targets, and we have a candidate to help against NBs and AHs, but it sucks right now due to how it has so many tradeoffs from the 30mm guns, Like it makes no sense the 35mm has a slow turn radius when helis have a better range of mobility, especially the NB that was never meant to be a good AT helicopter.

I think APS is fine on the Wildcat since most helis run Tows bombs and Rockets anyways. You still have to time it to get the most use, but I think it should be in the same slot of Thermal Smoke to prevent chaining Counter Measures which is a thing on MBTs but no one complains about it.

@Wargame_Enj0yer I don't think it has any impact because the distance is very close. After all, these have been implemented in Battlefield 4 and work very well.

Depending on the map the 2 aas should stick together they become much more powerful and also should not rely just on the missiles but on their cannons too

About week ago i encountered wildcat player, not gonna name him but, i had no chances against him. I tried everything. He was shredding me with 30mm and i was like openbook to him. Map was hourglass and in the city, which basically is upperhand for me. I was flying bird and rarely i see as accurate and fully gamesensed as he was. That proved me even more that wildcat 30mm is in very good state. Like i said, i had no chances even to get close to him and agm lockons take too long time to lock even when i tried to be unpredictable. While i dropped first rocket, i was in flames.

When ever i see him again, ill record game.
