EMP Grenades should NOT destroy Irish's APS Sentinels, instead damaging it.

Pretty much the title.

Also, this feedback is from Conquest, not Breakthrough.

I thought it deserved its own post separate from my feedback about Redacted, because it sorta solves the only problem with the map.

Currently EMP grenades one shot the Sentinel. That I think is kinda OP and straight away opens the flood gate on explosives. I suggest it should instead deal damage to the Sentinel as opposed to outright destroying it. This at least offers the possibility of destroying it with EMP grenades but at the expense of more than just 1 EMP grenade.

Since anyone can carry 2 EMP grenades at any given time, I'd say it should require 2 EMP grenades to destroy it.

Another solution is to totally prevent EMP grenades from being an exception and only allow C5 to be the exception. This forces the Assault class to choose between armor or C5 which is good for diversity otherwise you have a bunch full armored assaults in a CQB map. I can't remember if Zain's gadget can pierce the Sentinel but that's also a solution as opposed to EMP grenades.

    I would agree needing 2 EMP would be much better for balance especially considering these are mainly used on Redacted there are many people running EMP, I tried the sentinel a few games for a mission and was just chain replacing them just randomly getting destroyed.

    But that also brings me to the next annoying point, you can actually just spam these sentinels it’s kinda insane, you can have 2 up at the same time and in the meantime get resupplied, they are just never ending. And that’s just one single Irish there are usually loads. Just 3 Irishes have basically 9 sentinels, max 6 at the same time and when placed instantly resupplied to keep at least 1-2 in the chamber.

    Balance is hard to find and in the end impossible with a “hero” shooter without being a 4 man squad in a free for all style game. Does not work in Battlefield too many variables

  • I have experienced a lobby with more Sentinels than I could ever destroy with conventional means.

    The EMP sadly needs to be able to clean the sentinels.

    The problem with the sentinels is that they are not enough when you are the only one in the team with enough brain matter to use them and they are way too much when enough people use them.

  • @S3SSioN_SoL If this was a democracy I’d vote for 2 EMPs. The cool down they added to the sentinels also allows for their destruction from conventional means. Those two paths seem enough for balance IMO.
