Well when i look at BF2042 numbers just from Steamcharts i can see that BF2042 is as if not more popular than BFV in peak time hours for EST at least here between 18:00 and 00:00 There is more BF2042 players than BFV players .. thats said i find game in about 10 seconds full servers ..
But there is still crashing issues where 20+ players crashes at the same time and are replaced by bots mid match and then re replaced by real players whithin 2 to 3 minutes

I don't need to see the drastically declining Steam player numbers to realize that this game has serious player retention issues. I have had the game since release. It's getting worse with each passing week.
Crashes? In this gem? Get out of here! Just another reason why this game continues to lose players. Because it's an unstable, technical piece of crap on top of being severely flawed when it comes to its overall execution.
