@ReyMeroI'm glad you got yours overturned. I filled a second dispute and will keep filing them until they either overturn it or disable my account.
If i bought directly from EA I would do a chargeback and move on, but because I bought on steam if I do a charge back ill lose my whole Steam account.
Steam wont refund because I have over 2 hrs of playing.
I'm with you here buddy, I got banned the same time as @ReyMero Just different time zones. Of course the email said I cheated which is clearly not the case. I received a response today so 2 days from when I submitted my appeal saying that they did a full investigation on my account and they wont be revoking the ban. I already submitted another appeal stating to do another full investigation and to check for any unusual activity besides mines, I have already taken action to secure my account after the ban happened.
I run mostly the same apps the OP runs such as:
Logitech G Hub (Mouse)
ICUE (Keyboard and Headset)
Discord (BetterDiscord Version)
Geforce Experience (for recording gameplay)
Wallpaper Engine
I also have Opera browser opened on my second monitor for Youtube
- @IamSeilos Just to reiterate Dipzy's point here, two of the things you listed there are used as a vector in pretty much every dime-a-dozen aimbot/wallhack suite.
Not pointing out that to say you're "guilty" or not, just that *any* overlay on a popular PC product (going from fps counters to streaming or driver overlays) is an avenue for someone to make a wallhack or aimbot, and any anti-cheat software is obviously going to focus on the most common exploitation vectors, which on the low end is overlays directly.
False positives do happen, but nothing will change from posting on the forums, appeal it if you feel it's incorrect using the instructions Dipsy posted above.@FringerunnerI understand what yo both are saying, but the fact is that programs that are used daily shouldn't be throwing out false positives I understand that they can be used for cheating like you said but things like these should be taken seriously and fully investigated, We pay for the product and we should have the right to know what went wrong. I've played all the other battlefields both on Xbox and PC and I never had the urge to cheat. Battlefield 2042 is the only ban I've had ever since I started playing on PC. I have already done an appeal.
- @IamSeilos I agree, but if you appeal it'll be reviewed, and if what you say is true there's a good chance it'll be overturned.
You want an investigation, so ask for one, I'm fairly sure EA would rather keep customers than ban them if they're legit.
Can and will trigger false positives are not the same thing though, and the teams that handle this generally know why false positives can occur.
Hence, appeal if you're sure this is a mistake.
If the appeal fails most you'll probably just get something along the lines of "we can confirm your account was found using (insert infraction here)" unless they want to be specific and call you out.
They're also not going to just make things up, so if it comes to that, well, you asked for it.
I understand your side of the argument, the problem is though that we on the furms only have your (or any other poster's) word for anything you've (they) said and that doesn't amount to much either if we're going to be objective about this.
Look at any major FPS forum and you'll see posts like these every single day, and a few are false positives, quite a few are not.
The forum users have *no* way of knowing which category you or anyone else posting the same problem fall into, that's entirely up to account management to figure out.
I'm not being unsympathetic here, but it would be somewhat hypocritical not to extend the same courtesy to EA as you feel should be extended to yourself as observers.
We all know cheating is a massive issue across gaming at the moment (and that includes console), and if you play legit as you say, it shouldn't be a stretch to understand that you won't be explicitly told why you were banned, because it won't take the bot makers long to find out what loophole was just closed based on the amount of users they have that get banned, but no point in literally handing them the information (if this isn't an accident).
The flipside of that coin, if you are legit as you claim, then appeal and work with the account management team and try to fix it.
Because yes, we *do* need anti-cheat these days, even if all they catch is the cheapest bots out there, because MP games in general are being absolutely ruined by the amount of cheats available.
@Fringerunner @TTZ_Dipsy While there's not much we can do about it on the forums, there's not much anything can be fixed on the forums. I think this thread is mainly bringing attention to a major issue in the game. I think it's good to talk about publicly to have other people share their experiences also. Since if someone just sends a message to EA for them to help, there's not much response most of the time and it can feel isolating and frustrating. EA is pretty poor with customer service based on my experience before.
If it is common software causing people to be banned, then this is an even greater reason to have this thread. For these issues to be fixed. They shouldn't alienate people without reason just for using overlay software. They should work with the people having the problems to fix these issues. That's what good developers do. But instead, they don't reply and lock threads. Which of course, can cause more frustration and not help fix the overlying issue.
@Fringerunner @TTZ_Dipsy I agree with what you guys said and understand. However, I think most of honest gamers do not know the mechanics behind building hacks. I personally dont know how they are built for example. Telling me Nvidia overlay of some mouse / RGB software cant get you banned is quite the thing. I am not saying its the case either. I changed my CPU before the early release maybe they flagged some hardware change even though it was before release... I dont know. Spending 160CAD$ and not being able to use the game and the content for the next year is my problem with this situation. Plus the fact they have not vocal about it.
I just wrote the post so people would not feel unheard. Maybe in the end it will make a difference in how EA handles bans.
Sometimes knowing your not alone in the situation may you feel better about it.... I dunno haha
I agree that nothing will be sorted from posts on the forums and other than the toxic people accusing people of cheating this highlights that there is potentially an issue that might go unnoticed if people didnt post.
