False positive bans

@emerson1975 Well if that's true that's just outright stupid. Cheats have been around forever and whenever a game developer changes something to stop cheats then the cheat developers turn around and fix whatever is needed for the cheat to work again and then the vicious cycle starts all over again to Infinity.

But I don't care because I'm going to keep asking. Don't have to block my phone number to stop calling and asking. Because I'm not just going to let them take my 300 hours and my $95 without a damn fight.

No game developers or anti cheat tell you specifics of bans anymore and haven’t for years

@emerson1975 That was like 10 years ago. I really hope everyone stops using this theory because it's seriously flawed in so many aspects. The cheat providers are way past this point.

If people use cheats from a cheat provider I am quite sure both themselves and the cheat provider already understand why they are handed the ban.

In my case the detection is described as the following,

"EA cheat is saying that they cannot tell exactly why the user have been banned. They have found an external injection in the user's BF2042 client that they classify as using an intentional and invasive technique. The fingerprint is matching known aimbots and/or map hacks."

I'm quite happy with the depth of that description, but I would further like to work with EA support to find out more about this false positive. I'm sure they would still find, whatever it is, on my computer and fingerprint it more closely and then hopefully whitelist it, or maybe rework the technique they are using to finding these injections.

@indi81 First off... how the heck did you pull off getting such an explanation and I get a "unable to provide any details regarding our internal operations."?

As for this injection they mention in your case... do you happen to use AutoHotKey? I'm waiting to hear back from my 3rd attempt to get this overturned, if my use of AHK may have triggered the ban.

- Logitech G Hub (for configuring mouse DPI and keyboard RGB, no macros)
- Steelseries Engine app for headset
- Discord
- Nvidia GFE
- Display Fusion for desktop management/Window positioning
- Forticlient for VPN
- Windows Defender

@emerson1975 Macros? My keyboard and mouse both can do macros. Even one of the Reps I was on the phone mentioned how he never has had issues with his macor capable hardware.

It's not my fault they can't code a game properly and was sick of not being able to use vehicles like the Bolte etc because of their hardcoding of Look Left and Look Right. So I used it for a couple weeks till I got tired of having to turn it off and on all the time.

@QU4NT0R No I got this before the GDPR request, but it does relate because they apparently have more personal information in regards to the bans.

@indi81 Hmm the only things I have in common with you is Logitech GHub and Nvidia GFE.

@indi81 Hmmm... I wonder if some Kind of RGB-extension could have triggered it in my case... I'm running some Ambilight around my Monitor and also have some Nanoleaf-Light-Panels at my wall... Both, the Nanoleaf Desktop and the Aquasuite (RGB controlling and watercooling Monitoring) are grabbing/analyzing signals going to the graphics card and transforming them to corresponding light at the light panels and the leds at the back of my monitor.

@emerson1975 Well if that's the case the why don't they ban hardware as well like my Corsair keyboard that can do macros and my Logitech mouse that can do macros? And if their software can pick it up then it should be able to notice that I'm not using a macro that's only being used for left and right on my arrow keys that's it. There's software must really suck if it can't distinguish between rebinding keys versus using a macro

@emerson1975 I don't know about AHK, cause I never installed or used it on my computer. But you've the same possible functionality in nearly all modern Keyboard/Mouse Software... I'm also using the logitech G Hub for a G910 Keyboard and a G502 wireless mouse.... Also have the older software LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) installed as I do have an older G13-device which is not supported by GHub. You can even programm LUA-scripts within GHub.

Funny thing: GHub Software is officially supported by Battlefield for years now as it's sending it's own light effects to the Keyboard/Mouse. Also they now have in-game-advertissements for Logitech...

I also have some macros on my keyboard, but none of them is related to any game. It's just for changing Lightning effects or opening specific programs I use very often (Word, Blender, aso.)

@-NME-M0710NM4N AHK will be flagged by the anti cheat due to the fact you can run tons of scripts on it.
It’s been flagged by blizzards anti cheat too and the anti cheat for pubg

@QU4NT0R I have a g503 on my second pc along with a razor keyboard and all I can say is that I have not been banned so I can only presume that’s not the reason why you are

@emerson1975 I've been running AHK for years on the background (it's always ran as it's also in startup) but never interacts with any of my games. It's just for skipping, pausing songs.
So as long as it doesn't interact with games, you should be safe. Apex is also an EA game + uses Easy Anti Cheat and never banned there.
Or it could be DICE's implementation that picks up AHK no matter what.. though I doubt it. I still believe it has something to do with GHUB, iCUE

@ItsOnlyM3-NL Well to honest... all of us are scratching our heads. Some of us seem to have the same programs running, like iCue... but not everyone. Same for GHub... lot of us have it, but then a lot that are being banned that aren't using it.

There doesn't seem to be a common denominator. So if it's iCue... then why have some been banned that don't own any Corsair products so they wouldn't be running it? I think it's just that EAC is broke and they don't want to admit it.

@indi81 The only ones I share with you are G-Hub, Discord, and Windows Defender. Beyond those all I have running would be Steam, and Origin, since those are mandatory. I occasionally will pull up YT on Google Chrome in the background for music. Those are the only things I have running. I have the light-sync thing activated on the mouse, which is the Logitech MMO mouse. I don't think the Logitech software would trigger it though, because there would be a lot more people reporting this, I think. At this point, who really knows?
