Feature request: Swimming underwater & naval content

I really miss the ability to dive underwater that was present in most previous BF titles. The current maps only have limited water areas, but even so I still find myself wanting to be able to swim underwater to help stealth approaches or escape distant gunfire. I would love to see this ability added to the game. 

I also miss the naval content that was more heavily featured in past BF titles. I hope new maps are added (whether via Portal or the main game) that feature more extensive river/lake/ocean areas and naval vehicles. I would happily pay extra for DLC that added more Portal maps to the game. Some personal favorites are Lost Islands, Operation Mortar, Wake Island, Paracel Storm, Gulf of Oman, Solomon Islands, Dragon Valley, Operation Game Warden, Flood Zone, Operation Baytown, Guadalcanal, and many others.

    @mitcharf BFV really took it to another level, with sea creatures swimming around, and if you were hurt in water and shark was close, he’d bite you. Suddenly in 2042 we get bupkis. In 4 you could swim though a tunnel under the wall, there were multiple features that are apparently considered legacy. Sad.

    I don't understand how this game can lose features the longer it runs? Mind boggling.

    Agreed. It seems like DICE starts over with each iteration of the Frostbite engine and someone in management is asking how much can we save if we cut x feature. I think corporate greed combined with a niche game engine is primary cause. This has been happening since BF1 where a lot of BF4 and earlier features were scrapped.

    But BF2042 takes the cake. Pages of so-called "legacy features" were missing and still are.

    Eventually throughout the lifecycle of the game they add some back. But each time it gets worse and worse. The playerbase needs to stop pre-ordering and accepting this. Otherwise it will never improve.

    As I have said many times, BF2042 is a mere shell of previous BF'S, so many core elements missing / so much wasted potential, sad really. ☹️
