First Issue I Have With Battlefield 2042 Steam.

I'll make a post for every portion I find an issue with, that way the conversation doesn't go astray. Note, I don't own the licence to play Battlefield 2042, I merely just taking advantage of the free to play time on the Steam Platform and giving my feedback. I'll be comparing this directly with my experience from COD MW2 DMZ mode as that's basically all I play atm.

I installed Battlefield 2042 and upon first launch I was greeted with the EA App, Why? Yes this is my first issue and it quite confused me. I don't have another game that does this to me, so I think it's a good place to start. Basically users are installing the game through Steam, but it's just using the EA App. In my opinion this needs to be changed. Let me launch the game, login into my account and be on my way of playing said title.

Another issue is when I close Steam (fully) the EA background services are still running on my machine. I wouldn't dare purchase a title that behaves like this just for this very reason.

EA, if you want to start fixing your games for once, start with your services.

Again, this is just direct feedback towards the game Battlefield 2042 on the Steam platform. This isn't a biased and/ or unhelpful rant just to make conversation. If you don't like what I had to say, but have no actual argument for what I did say I ask you to move on. I'm not here to start an argument, but to make this title a better game. If I didn't care for the series I wouldn't be here.

Short summary: Games installed through Steam should have a smaller footprint and shouldn't require a second application. Furthermore, backend services shouldn't continue to run when the main host program has been terminated.

@Popa2caps This is true for a lot of games. Ubisoft games largely force you to install the Ubisoft launcher. Rockstar games have their launcher that I believe is needed [or at least was at one point].

Well yeah, it's totally true that (some) game companies require services like this. I'm not at all arguing that fact, but more or less suggesting that Electronic Arts streamline this more, in better hopes that the title feels and/ or plays faster.

In the end, closing Steam shouldn't leave behind EA services that still run entirely by itself without the user's awareness. I feel that should be addressed immediately. EA background services don't need to run while the game launcher is closed. That's lazy coding on behalf of EA to try and get easy accessible data from unsuspecting users, and I just won't tolerate it.

Again, I totally get that some game titles require background services while running, but Battlefield 2042 is the only one that has a service that runs when I fully close Steam. Without a direct change to this behavior, I simply will not try anymore of the product.
