Fixes/Changes we need in place by Update 3.3

I think others are in the same frame of mind, that along with the latest hotfix, the announcement of the next update being delayed is a massive blow to player morale. 

The next update is now not scheduled until some time in March so 4-6 weeks away. That will make it 2 months+ since the last meaningful update. 

My personal opinion is that EA/Dice need to urgently have a more frequent, scheduled (e.g every 2nd Thursday) updates, even if they have less in them, to keep the community happy and engaged. I also couldn't care less about the scoreboard being a priority "legacy feature" when there are so many more urgent issues that affect gameplay. 

Currently the biggest issues I see with the game that need to be in Update 3.3 are:

  • ADS Bug after exiting vehicles / drones - no work around, you have to Redeploy to get rid of this. 
  • Loadouts disappearing when loading into games (this occurs even if you arent customising anything)
  • Loadout resets on vehicles & specialist skins
  • Invisible players / vehicles / weapons
  • Wall glitch on D1 Renewal point (requires McKay to grapple into location)
  • Wall glitch on A1 Kaleidoscope (requires McKay to grapple into location)
  • Multiple wall glitches on Oil Rig on Breakaway (You can walk or parachute with any specialist through walls in multiple points)
  • DXGI_Device_Hung error for PC Players
  • Sundancer Anti Armour not tracking the nearest vehicle (You can throw them so close to a tank it touches, but it still flies after an AH 500m away)
  • Resolution reset to 1024x768 randomly even when game has been closed gracefully (PC)
  • Game "resets" Intro, especially on updates. So it plays the introduction video again and tries to take you through the training mission. 
  • Persistence Data error is still occuring. 
  • UI doesnt load on round start - You can see the background of the overview map screen and can hear in game sound, however no points appear to deploy on
  • Invisible Walls - there are sections such as to the North of the final point of Hourglass Breakthrough, where there are invisible walls you cannot shoot or be shot through. 
  • Object hitboxes - Sometimes, such as when shooting past rails, you cannot hit anybody as the game believes youre shooting the object next to you, even though its not near your crosshair
  • Beacons are intermittantly invincible
  • Cannot jump after reviving team mate - Only work around is to hold E to interact, which fixes the bug. 
  • 30mm vehicle weapons stun lock infantry in place and you cannot move
  • Matchmaking automatically cancels sometimes, and returns to menu
  • VoIP (which we know is coming for all platforms) and we should have an ALL chat. It's been demonstrated if anything, removing all chat has made games more toxic. 
  • EMP grenades blow up infront of your face even when not near a Shootdown. Even if youre right next to a tank when it happens the tank is unaffected.
  • Team mates can still get "stuck" in walls/objects when downed and you cannot revive them. 
  • Cant reliably exit vehicles such as the MAV
  • Fix the way latency is handled. Players teleporting across the screen and are invincible when you see them and theyre frozen. 

Less urgent issues that need to be addressed:

  • Placing Beacons if it doesnt place successfully, gives a 2 second delay until you can try again 
  • AI shoot you spawning on your beacon before your screen even loads
  • Unable to cancel gun check animation on spawn, which results in being killed at spawn
  • Fixed Spawn Locations - when spawning on a contested objective, they have a single fixed spawn location. This results in vehicles camping this spot and shooting you on spawn. Previous titles would have areas that it would spawn you in moving you around so this couldnt happen. Typically spawning you out of direct sight of enemies. 
  • Securing objective doesnt show on screen - The result is you need to keep looking at the flag to know if you're capping it or not. 
  • Some weapon attachments, specifically supressors, dont appear to do anything
  • When a Breakthrough sector is taken, enemy shouldnt be able to sit indefinately in capped areas until they die. After the timer has finished, they should receive a countdown until theyre terminated like an enemy trying to run back into that sector. 
  • 128 Player maps need more infantry cover between points of presence, especially in the case of Conquest game modes. Some areas maybe underground passages. Dips and hills, wreckage you can hide behind, etc...
  • Yellow "RELOAD" warning gets stuck on screen occasionally even when you've reloaded your weapon. 
  • Air vehicles can dodge AA Missiles in the middle of the air, when locked on with no counter measures left. 
  • Kick/Cancel Matchmaking on players that are AFK for long periods of time. There are players that just minimize the game and are earning XP for rounds they arent even playing. Theyre automatically added to a squad, automatically deployed, can sit there until the match is over, then automatically put back into match making. 
  • Player models remain frozen for some time after you kill an enemy.
  • Dozer shield bash doesnt work properly on stairs most of the time. 
  • Sometimes when trying to deploy on a point, the mouse jumps to a different deploy marker and you deploy there
  • Hit registration. To many times, weapons do 0 damage. Wether it be a DXR-1 lined up on the head with the person not moving, or you pump 10 rounds from an AK24 directly into a player. 
  • When youre in tight spaces, sometimes you cannot see the Plus system properly. It doesnt zoom out properly and cuts off the 3rd slots around the edge. 
  • When switching scope in the plus system, occasionally the sight bugs. e.g shows the red dot on the gun, but zooms like a holo, or shows 8x scope but zooms like a red dot in ADS

Balancing that needs to occur

  • The Sentry Gun needs to be nerf'd, it shouldnt do 100% damage in 4 hits. It's also far to effective as ESP. While the Gun should look on, it shouldnt give Boris ESP. That is Paiks ability. 
  • Rao's hack ability should occur faster and be more forgiving on LOS. 
  • Paiks ESP ability should last slightly longer, and have a shorter cooldown. Also the ESP outlines should fade slower like sonar on the old movies. 
  • PKP/LCMG recoil when not bipod needs to be nerf'd
  • SMG's (particularly PP-29 & K30) need more aggressive damage fall off.
  • Windows on the Bolte should be widened and infantry should be more suceptible to shots that make it through. 
  • SOFLAM needs to be able to reach the ceiling. When you're on breakthrough defense and get no Air vehicles, AH can just sit at the ceiling raining down and you cant do a single thing about it. 
  • SOFLAM lock ons should give a different sound to stingers, similar to what you do with Anti Armor grenades. 
  • C5 drone either needs to not explode on contact, or needs to be limited to 2 C5 per drone to reduce the easy 1 drone tank kills. Requests that would improve the game in the long term:
  • Get rid of Matchmaking, apart from maybe a "Quick Play". Give us a Server Browser. Those of us outside the US & EU with low player counts, its impossible to sort out games and we can sit in match making for HOURS. 
  • If no Server Browser is added, then consider lowering the number of required players to start a game, or allow players to load into a Pre-match warmup. Also let us TAB to the game stats to see how many are in the Lobby.
  • Make server sessions persistent. Without persistent servers we're often playing the same map 4-5x in a row. In dead regions, you have no other choice to matchmake to another game either. 
  • Give squads back an XP system, for incentive to work together as a squad. Base the call-in system off the squad XP, and make the call ins more meaningful
  • Bring back the Class system to add some structure and remove some chaos. Each class has its set weapons and/or gadgets it can use. This is a formula we know that works. Add specialists to the call in system instead, where doing a call-in redeploys you as a specialist on the battlefield. Perhaps limited to 1 specialist per squad at any time. Squad leader can get all the armourment, but any squad member can call a specialist. 
  • Give us more official modes. TDM would add some excitement to the game, infantry gameplay without vehicles, this is where you could be any specialist in the game you want. Grand Operations would help with supporting the lore of the game as these mini wars are more story driven compared to the Conquest/Breakthrough battles. 
  • Hazard Zone needs its own unique maps, or map sections. It also needs more meaningful rewards and reasons to keep redeploying, maybe its own rewards in the way of unique skins. 
  • While in a lobby waiting for game to start, allow us to customise our loadouts, adjust setings, etc... 
  • Give the friendly & enemy team unique shaders, so we can differentiate who is an enemy, especially for hardcore or milsim style servers. You cannot tell players apart. 

I personally think waiting 4-6 weeks is going to cause irreparable harm to the game leaving it in the state its in now, especially with Season #1 now being delayed until June/July.

    There's enough there to keep them busy for a while that's for sure.!
  • I wonder how many of these features ended up on the cutting room floor trying to make the launch window for 2042.

    Lord knows what game looked like before the 3 week delay.

    @JarskyPlays Incredible amount of good points.

    I hope that in-wall glitching hot spots might be fixed asap.

    Weapon inspection animation should only be present in Safe Base to be brutally honest.

    Reset to 1024x768 from my native resolution was really annoying.

    Plus random freezes and crashes. Completely wrecked mouse input/output in the game. No classes in Conquest. No legacy features like it is a paint color or a skin for the dev team. The map design that in my view is not any better than in previous BFs. Lack of balance and bugs killed the willingness for me to play 2042.

    But, hopefully, someone is going to make a list and fix this ♥♥♥♥

    Been queued for 3 hours...this is the last 20 minutes just to show you how dead this game is in Australia. It's nearly 7pm for me

    As you said yourself they need to give you a Server Browser / Server system, more and more people are having issues with MM failing to put them into a game.
