Footstep audio since 5.0

Ok I'm a BF vet. Purchased EVERY main BF gamed since Bad company 2 (even though I didn't play bf1 and bfv because I dislike the timeframe... I still purchased them to show love to the company though)...

I have made no changes to the audio settings and I usually play with a youtube video or a podcast in the background but even with that the footsteps are way too loud.

I only have a stereo headset but I can still pinpoint exactly where people are just with sound.

There is no need for a minimap with theses footsteps, but I think they have been quieter since update 5 but that's still too much.

    Your sound setup would help us to see where we need to be as far as sound settings.

    Creative G6 USB audio.

    Using headphone 3d sound in game.
