So after 600+ hours into 2042 and WAY MORE in past titles (mainly bf3, bf4, bf1, bf5)
I have figured out why 2042 just doesn't feel right. Honestly 2042 plays fine but it's just very boring, stale, and basic.
<snipped out...>
Conclusion: These are just a few points there's more surely. This game has amazing potential but I don't feel the devs are doing anything relevant to make this a good game, just simply fixing it to retain current player base. Where's the WOW factor that was used in EVERY past game. If the next battlefield is anything like this one I don't see it selling well at all. I believe the only reason why there are players now is because many of us bought it without fully knowing just how bad it was at launch.
Wow @SCUBASTEVE120 ,
With a whopping 600+ hours in BF2042, then you have clearly shown much patience with this game.
Despite being very committed Battlefield gamers, then the vast majority of players unfortunately left it behind already after just 50-150 hours max. The substance and depths in this BF game was simply not there. And as you call out, its very quickly becomes stale and boring repetition. And with lack of EA/DICE follow-ups to fix what doesn't work and lack of new contents in timely seasonal updates, then players unfortunately left it all behind.
All what you mentions (and so much more) of trouble/missing functions/missing contents was all highlighted and repeatedly communicated here from the customers/players to EA/DICE since game launch. So its not like they are not aware of the community's opinion. And DICE have obviously also direct access to the factual active player numbers and related server activities, so those numbers should tell it all to them.
But the big question remains:
Will they care to take actions on it to save this game?
Or is the time gone already since launch and no actions to show for it the answer?
Namely that they have folded on BF2042 and already on to the next big BF gig?
Unfortunately, I think the latter is the answer.
But when really observing what is the BF2042 today, then it is probably still the right decision after all.
