@badcuztremysaid XP has been capped / limited since day one, it’s not a new phenomenon. There are multiple threads about it. After 2 years, there’s really no reason not to remove those caps / restrictions. If you want to play solo all the time why not? If you want to do MP or Portal modes only, who cares? There was barely a reason at release and certainly no reason now. It’s a push to make players get into multiplayer and flesh the numbers out. It’s not effective, and restrictions can be removed.

Because a "Challenged" person made the decision and nobody pulled them up on it.
Look at it another way, it's false advertising too!
At this stage of the game, just let people play it how they want, seeing as they bought it. . . . Oh wait, I forgot, we didn't buy it, we just lease it from them and they have full control.

@badcuztremysaid purely out of curiosity, what cap you're referring to? Is it the old cap @ATFGunr has mentioned or do you mean the "new / additional" cap which was introduced with the last update / start of S6?

There is no new cap, but the maximum you could gain with normal progression speed per day was limited for those modes. Then progression slows down to a crawl.
While I kind of understand for this to be the case to stop XP farming servers (not sure why you want to prevent users from grinding XP if they want to, but that is at least a reason).
But for Solo matches, this is plain out stupid. These modes are 'generated' by Dice and follow the official rules. There is no way to artificially enhance the XP gain other than killing AI and capturing objectives. Not sure who ever thought this to be a good idea to cap XP for those official solo matches as well.
