Hi console community! I am going to propose something but shut me off if it’s a bad idea. I am proposing that in maybe a month we pick a date and all PS5 and new GEN Xbox players would turn off cross play for that date. I think most people would love to play the 128 player Maps without PC players.If it catches on and works, may be more and more Console players could leave cross play off so we could find matches quickly. Is it doable? Is it worth it? Right now there’s a night and day difference between the PS4 version compared to the PS five version with all the PC players. Do you guys think it would not make a difference helping the lag/de-sync/ Insta kills by PC players? I would love to hear your thoughts.

@ATFGunrIt's a shame more PC players don't give it a go.I notice that when playing AOW 64 player with cross play off (in EU) this past week it has been slow to get started due to the 16 player requirement, but by the afternoon there is always a full server (no bots).I would really like to see the number of players required to start greatly reduced, or just made the same as the weekly Portal Experiences. It would really help the Cross Play Off situation in AOW.

@kregoraI agree. Playing crossplay off results in more bots which is less of a challenge and frankly less fun than playing real people. The choice is completely awful game play, or a more fun experience. Being killed by packets of bullets with no chance to dodge isn’t that fun either. I’m a PC player, I don’t think consoles are EZ targets at all, I want crossplay off because Dice can’t build a system that works for all of us.

@JOGAGATYA Good luck, I’ve been preaching and talking about it for months. Most don’t seem to care enough. The numbers in the forums are way too low to effect change, it’s why Dice doesn’t give our opinion much thought either. I’m not sure either community has enough of a player base to make this work.

@ATFGunr I haven't tried it for quite some time. In my experience Crossplay is the default for the game. So you need to opt-out manually.When you do that you find it hard to get matches started.There is also the issue, that your setting is reset to default, when you join a friends party that has crossplay enabled. This doesn't happen just for the time you are in the same party, but is a persistent change to your config.So you need to disable crossplay again, after leaving the party.Doing that daily for several weeks is very tedious, so I gave up.Both sides, console players and pc players have valid reason not wanting to play with the other side. It is the less spread higher stability on console vs. keyboard and mouse on PC issue.In my opinion crossplay should be an opt-in feature, if you want to play with friends on a different platform. But I guess is right with the idea that nearly nobody would do that so they force us.

@ATFGunr I doubt anyone can build a system that works for everybody. At least not in an economic way.When I snipe, I doubt there is any difference between pc and console targets.In CQB I usually loose against aim assist plus higher accuracy/stability of console players.I know its subjective impression. But players should play with the same game mechanics / physics, when they play on the same server.I know this is an issue we have, that only exists because of crossplay.

@JOGAGATYA This is an excellent idea, but unfortunately I don't think enough people will see this post to do it. I hate playing against PC players. They have such a massive advantage over console. When I used to play on PS4, I was nearly unbeatable in the Nightbird. Now that I play on Xbox X against PC players, I get shot out of the heli nearly every time in less than 10 seconds.

I am sure both communities have enough players. There are enough PS4/Xbox old gen players to get the PS4 going. I imagine there are enough new gen PS/Xbox console players to make this happen too. Of course this would have to be advertised on social media, all gamers forums, reddit etc. Give it enough time like a month and tell all console players to turn off crossplay on that weekend. Then we could see if first of all there are enough players and second, how does the game feel without PC players/crossplay. I am willing to do this if enough people say here on this forum that it is worth a shot. Or you guys think it would not make a difference and the 128 player maps play like this anyway?

@RayD_O1 Just a suggestion, disable the ability for PC players to have cross play, they know they have the advantage so they welcome us console players into their games for an easy target. There's enough other PC players for them to play against to play a balanced game.

I don't like to turn crossplay off as it restricts me to only play against XBox which are a bit thin on the ground at the moment. I would like to include Playstation players in my games as it would ensure there will be enough for a good game but there's no way of doing that without allowing PC players.
