I want to say I have had instances where I told myself that the person that just killed me was a cheater but then I doubt myself because of the bad net code.
If anything I feel having a ping counter on the board would give at least some clues to suspicious moments. But still, some things really are too frequently suspect. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense if one person seemingly has the most perfect netcode to rack up dozens of kills in no time while others are all gradually racking them up, and then they do that in multiple rounds back to back with all of the variables and changing players of varying skill and experience.

Every FPS dismissing cheaters. The real indicator of why I feel that cheaters are now on BF2042 is because as soon as they had the free weekend and the game was a little better now you have these low-ranking players going on a rampage in servers. I know some people are good but the same people in the game killing me as soon as I get out of cover is a bit too much. Also if you play enough you know when it is the netcode that is making you die. Ever since the update I have been ALT F$ out of most matches because of the combination of cheaters, bad net code and the god-tier auto-aim for the controller. Most of the time if I am beamed by a sniper it is a console player.

I play on PS5, have about 1400 hours in the game (all with crossplay), and until last night I've not noticed a single obvious hacker. That changed last night, where a dude (spoofing a Twitch streamer that I'm familiar with) was headshotting everyone in the server with an Avancys. I feel like I've lost my innocence.
