There is currently a report category called "gameplay sabotage". What does that means exactly ? And what are the consequences when you are found in breach of it.Today I was in a game with a skilled pilot in the hind and the gunner ended up doing more than a hundred kills.But the enemy jet pilot was only doing strafe kills on infantry and not engaging the hind. They have a youtube channel and based on the video on here they could have really hindered the hind player without too much hassle.I called them out about it in in game chat and they said they were not engaging because they were friends.So there is my question : Is this against community guidelines and does EA moderators take action against theses breaches even against prominent players ?

@Anobix It’s throwing off the balance of the game though. It’s maybe not sabotage in the purest form, but it’s definitely not helping their own team.No one would probably care about this situation in the first place if air vehicles like the Hind and Condor didn’t have so much health. I would definitely say the OP’s concern is valid regardless of how you want to classify it.There’s a way Dice can balance things better, but they’re not going to do it for whatever reason that I still can’t wrap my head around. It’s self sabotaging the game.

@ugdpyPlaying like a selfish * isn’t sabotage. If the hind pilot flew out of bounds and stayed there, trapping the other players would be obvious griefing / sabotage and you could legit report. (I bet nothing happens but that’s beyond this thread) Let’s say I had ammo, but didn’t drop it until I needed it, and I got killed and the enemy used my box, that’s not sabotage. It’s foolish (insert your own stronger word here) but not against the EULA. I’ve watched other players take a vehicle and just park it in the base, not shooting or anything, just taking it off the chess board so our team is down a tank, that’s sabotage as it impacts the entire team. If he sat there shooting at the enemy but missing, that’s not sabotage IMO (just crummy play)

I personally see gameplay sabotage as things like intentionally team-killing someone, like people do to artillery truck users in BF1, or giving vehicles to friends on the other team. However, if you feel that what you mentioned in your post is sabotage then I'd say go ahead and report it. That way EA's ToS team can investigate it and take whatever action they think is correct.

'Gameplay Sabotage' can also be seen as 'griefing', which means "When gamers in multiplayer games deliberately act against the server rules or community guidelines and prevent the progress of other players." (Source) So basically anything that falls in that category can be seen as 'Gameplay Sabotage', I would say. However, it's, of course, up to the reporter to determine the severity and/or the impact of the actions (is it worth reporting such behaviour and such).

@ugdpySelfishness is not sabotageI will tell you a case of a sabotage:During the early days of 2042, I was using Casper drone to spot enemies for my team while hiding my soldier in a relatively safe place.Then some random squadmate decided I was slacking so he did his best to attract enemy attention to my hiding spot get me killed while I was piloting the drone, helping the team find enemies.After that he went into a tirade about comparing his higher kill counts to mine blah blah blah.All that back when we could not leave our squad.

@ugdpy gameplay sabotage, as far as I am concerned, would be spawning vehicles and giving them, purposefully, to the other team.

Ignoring other vehicles, for whatever reason, I wouldn't call "sabotage"

@AnobixThat line in the community guideline post, in my mind, would apply here :

Treat Others As They Would Like To Be Treated - Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others.

Hogging one of the direct counter to their friend's vehicles was disrupting their team and ensured nobody on their side was having a bad time

I'd say sabotage would be ramming a friendly tank with your tank because you're salty they're not playing the way you want them to. Or throwing smokes in an attempt to obscure their vision.

@ugdpy Even if they weren't friends on opposing teams, would you be mad at a vehicle that is killing infantry rather than another vehicle? I mean, if I'm in a chopper or tank the moment that a vehicle shows up on the map I'm not immediately bee-lining over to them. You can still be helping your team by attacking/defending a point with a vehicle instead of just 1v1-ing other vehicles and having a higher chance of being destroyed.

@ugdpy annoying at best I can understand that.

Tbh the in game reporting system and how long it takes for it to be actioned vary.

I still have reports from may that haven’t been reviewed or actioned as yet.

I don’t think it’s perfect, tbh they prob should use AI it would be faster and more effective.

@ugdpy In BF1/BF5 days I made non agression pact with enemy pilots so that we can take bombers and just farm the life out of infantry players. It was hilarious watching all chat collectively lose their marbles over it.

I never got in trouble over it, despite countless threats of "video and report"

This will have basically the same effect as any other reporting you do, like cheaters for instance. Goes straight to /dev/null
But sure, if reporting makes you feel better and you don't really expect anyone reading what you wrote, go ahead.
