If they make it so it doesn't work through hard cover is the only way that ability will be OK.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@0_oRage In the footage I have seen it shows people through hard cover, there is nothing to balance, it should not do that full stop.
- TrasteTh4 years agoSeasoned Ace@R1ckyDaMan19 I think that this is the way they designed it, so it should indeed do that.
Maybe some don't want it to do that, but that is a different thing. - 4 years ago@R1ckyDaMan19 That's what I said. I agreed, it does go through "hard" cover. You want it to spot people in the open?! That seems redundant and useless lol.
Again, try to be a little creative. There's ways to balance it. There's ways they can nerf it into the ground if they wanted to. Stop crying about something you haven't even used yet.
The only time I would disagree with this mentality would be when Bungie launched Stasis in Destiny 2. Freezing mechanics do not belong in FPS games. Wall-hacks can be balanced.- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace
@0_oRageBush campers? Dark corner campers? There are loads of situations where having enemies highlighted would be useful.
Wanna balance it? Make the user visible in bright red to all enemies within the abilities range.
High risk, high reward...Give a grenade type usable by all specialists that renders all tech useless with a certain range, or a static device like a tug that emits waves scrambling tech nearby.
Creative enough?
Everything, and I mean everything needs a viable counter.

@0_oRageI remember back in the day, when the devs for chess (the board game) released a new version, where the knight suddenly could jump over other pieces. The whole chess community went NUTZ, it was so unrealistic, and it was like cheating. The knights were already OP AF with their weird movement pattern!
The devs did some patches and nerfed the knights to only have a limited range.
Many of the old seasoned players canceled their pre orders and never returned to the game ever again.
Eventually the whole thing settled down and now no one speaks about it any more. I still think they are a bit OP, but the devs are not listening to the community any more.- 4 years ago@TrasteTh That's why I play "real" chess. None of this castling, en passant, promotion, knights flying, or any other funny business.

Look at this 18th century OG gamer. True story by the way. I looked it up.
