@DPsx7i doesn't really matter how long the cooldown is, since the fact remains that until recently Angel had EVERY GADGET IN THE GAME AT HIS FINGERTIPS. and if you think that is fine then thats your opinion you are entiltled to it but i do not have to agree with it. same with your constant claim that "only a vocal minority wants classes back" until you produce actual data to support that claim it will be nothing more then your opinion and noone in the world needs to or will automatically agree with you just because you keep repeating it.
SteamCharts show the community is rather indifferent about the change, some like it some don't, but again i doubt DICE does changes like this just for the s*its and giggles. most likely their surveys show that the majority wanted this change which makes you the vocal minority b*tching and crying about it. i am sorry for your displeasure. i hope you find the strength to move on
The length of the cool-down absolutely matters! That's what game balancing looks like. If Paik could keep scanning whenever she wanted, and if the enemies stayed highlighted the entire duration of the scan, then that would be broken. Everyone freaked out about her, but she's underwhelming in most instances. She's a perfect example of how something on paper sounds busted ends up being really well balanced.
Like someone else mentioned, you can respawn faster than you can call in the crate. I had a much bigger problem with Sundance having a spawn becon on top of the buildings on Spearhead, just constantly flying behind people, getting cheap 1-2 or more picks just because she could flank so easily. Stuff like that is what I want balanced.
I'm not sure if it was you, but it was certainly others, talking about BF3 and BF4 like it was well balanced... it wasn't, there were a few meta guns and A LOT more spam from what I can remember. People camping doorways with C4, Grenades, and Airburst. BFV had a lot of great systems in place to limit spam and BF2042 seems to do a pretty good job of that as well. Both feel like they do a better job then BF3 or BF4.
You could keep switching kits back and forth, but why couldn't you do that with anyone else just by playing really aggressive and respawning? You're not going to top the Leader board by constantly switching your kit. He could always be balanced with an increase to the cool-down of his ability. It's literally changing a couple of numbers.
