Gold/ultimate edition scam?

The game has been out for 70 days. The first season and new content drops in "early summer" so in ~120 to 150 days. The game is already dead because it's fundamentally horsepoo. Who will be left in July? The bots ? Also if bf just makes out to be 10% of your revenue pls refund us all that want to refund

Couldn't you see statements such as "way ahead of schedule" and those fake reviews as false advertising btw?

  • Yup, same sentiment. This was an expensive early-access game basically.

In the summer, people will be able to pick up these editions dirt-cheap.

I requested a refund on steam with a nicely written comment so hopefully they will give me back my hard earned money.

  • I notice everyone else is anticipating season 1 in June. Summer starts officially on the 21st of June. They only said early summer. Summer lasts for months.

It could very easily be a July release as you say, and that's another tear to shed over this misery.

i have never seen a video game company (any video game company) deliver at the beginning of a time period they indicate.   spring always means late may, summer usually means late august, early summer usually means mid july etc

It's not a scam because the description of the expansions doesn't ever provide a solid release date, everything is tentative.

You of course have the power to NOT buy the damn thing and wait until it actually releases in a working state.

@SushiiCombo Yeah just like EA had the power to not release the game, or make a statment about its condition, or release advertisement that werent misleading.

Shame on the consumers for putting some trust into a AAA rated studio.... lol that has continued to let us down and we still buy.
  • Well at least we know for certain what direction they want to take this game. For the second time they went in funky direction trying to standardize BF to current FPS titles. Now it’s just up to the community to find the drive to move on. Hell Let Loose is a good option.

Being a huge BF fan, it makes me sad to see such a great game go in this common direction. But we need to realize that it’s no longer developed by Battlefield loving Devs that play the game with the community because they love to play BF.

Now it’s just one of a thousand games in EA’s spreadsheet, with a million data points comparing it to other EA software titles to gauge its success.

Why do we still think that these fixes are to make the “community” happy? We have to look at past behavior and read between the announcement lines to figure out how these/this decisions monetarily benefit(s) the game.

EA/DICE even appear to have gotten the launch year totally wrong!

The BF2042 game will potentially be in a playable state in...   2042 !

Shameful in any case to charge the $ EA did for the Gold/Ultimate editions in 2021 for this level of horse poo as OP @Trashfield_2042 phrased it...
