Gunplay & recoil mechanics
So first of all I hope that they remove random bullet deviation and static middlescreen crosshairs. I mean this balancing concept is so ancient and 'gamey', it's time for innovation! In the trai...
@-ExiLe_ZH Welcome back!
I can say that random bullet variance found in BF4 has been heavily changed in more "current" Battlefields. "Bullet spread" is still in-game, but first shot accuracy is not random. Finally, recoil patterns are similar across multiple bursts, but not identical.
^ That is from BFV gunplay mechanics.
Middle screen crosshair has been, is, and always will be as I can tell, part of the game. You can of course change whether or not you see it and what it looks like, but those features have been in the series for a bit now.
I will agree with you in hoping that there have been improvements to gunplay overall as well as the "feel" and look of those systems as well... we will all be able to test it soon enough!
@carsono311 Hey thanks!
Also @Noodlesocks @Noodlesocks, I haven't played BFV, in fact the last game I played extensively was BF3 before I quit gaming, I have played BF1 a little bit a few years back but it wasn't quite a comeback.
I've now seen some footage of BFV and it seems to be an improvement over older mechanics indeed! The spread definitely isn't as bad as older titles and you have slight visual feedback in the reticle. It isn't just a fixed crosshair that's part of the HUD. It actually seems to follow the barrel movements, mimicking real life parallax (free) effects, though it's a bit too subtle still IMO.
Judging on the new trailer, this visual feedback in the reticle looks even better and a bit more aggressive. I can't exactly tell how it functions yet and where the bullets are landing, so that's my main concern here. I hope the stronger visual feedback also means they reduce randomness even more, that would be great!
But yea, we will probably find out soon enough!
