Has DICE already cut support for 2042?

With the march update being just a scoreboard and leaving dozens of critical bugs untouched and zero balance changes it gave me the impression that only a small group at dice are still working on 2042.

If the April update is similarity tiny and we have no real details about map changes outside of moving control points around I think that will be confirmation that this game's support has been pulled and there is only a small team maintaining it.

DICE will say they are "committed" to the game but there's no way a significant amount of money will be spent on a product that probably has less than 10k players on all platforms and can't even matchmake successfully in many parts of the world.

There's been zero communication about the future direction of portal either.

DICE could clear this up by spending an hour on a livestream with some leadership talking about their mistakes and their goals for the game. They could commit that all DICE staff are working on 2042 to make a better second impression.

But every week and every month that passes with silence or only whispers from individual staff Twitter accounts or community manager posts that players have to hunt for gives less confidence.

I'm 90% on the side of this game's support is over already and DICE is just putting on a good marketing face to hide it. Even the promise to revamp old maps sounds like a way to get out of doing any new maps. Or perhaps an excuse in the making for offering only one or two maps that were in the works before the game released to such universal negativity.

"Our entire map design team was so focused on updating kaleidoscope that we have made the decision to delay new maps to season 2 to ensure they are the best maps possible"

Then season 2 maybe has one map. And season 3 doesn't, and season 4 maybe has one, and then support ends. I see it happening.

It truly appears as all lights have been switched off in the BF2042 Dev department and we are just running at the last few sparse candles still on...

If EA/DICE indeed were truly committed and engaged with their entire workforce to make it right, they have had plenty of opportunity to come out with at least some encouraging messages to stay connected with their player base.

Completely stonewalling everybody and everything until maybe dropping a massive updated program package in August 2022 that should fix everything and then think everybody will be coming back happy to play sounds not like a well thought through battle plan.

Still perplexed as well about their much promoted Feedback Loop with their dear customers and then total still born reality of that...

How many times is it possible to shoot yourself in your own foot and not learn a thing from it?
