@ OP
I think it’s fair to be a little upset about not having separate specialists for each faction. But I think using the word lazy is pretty ignorant, and furthermore un constructive. There is a lot of work in making a single specialist beyond the design and function and you are literally suggesting doubling that effort at minimum. Twice as many voice lines and translations, skins, and progression.
On top of that you double the amount of specialists you need to recognize to understand their capability. Which is a core function of having distinct specialists in the first place.
Let’s try this, I think your understanding of the issue and your proposed solution is lazy. Try harder.

You seem have dismissed most of my post by calling the post lazy. I have not proposed a solution. I have noted the specialist system implemented in the game, as it is, is worse than previous iterations of the Battlefield series and have criticized it as such. The game is quite a few steps back to previous games
Yes, if they were to rework the game to make it make sense like previous iterations, it would require more work than they have already put in the game.
Perhaps they should have thought about that before wasting their time on such a system.
The criticism I have put forth is not dismissed by "The devs shouldn't have to work any more on making their game better if it's hard to do"
Don't get hung up on the word 'lazy'. It is lazy in comparison to previous games which is what many people are doing when complaining/criticizing the game. Perhaps this conversation could be avoided if I used the word "unimaginative" or "bad". Either way, previous game iterations did it better

@rippedwire01I just gave you an example of how the devs were lazy in previous games and you just dismissed it just to make your point.
- 4 years ago@CantGetRight You did. However I am not talking about factions. I am talking specifically about heroes. The argument isn't whether or not the devs are lazy
Your rebuttle is like if two people committed two different crimes and criminal B said "well what criminal A did was wrong too!".
Well it doesn't matter, Criminal B. We're not talking about Criminal A's actions. We're talking about yours - SirBobdk4 years agoSeasoned Ace
The same specialists on each side are just weird, even though DICE has been trying to make a story behind it. I'm not a fan of these personalities. I'm fine with DICE trying to give access to all weapons / gadgets, but wish they had done so without heroes and with different factions.

When considered alongside the back story, the same specialist in each side makes sense as they are technically mercenaries.
At anytime, there are 10 possible character models in a game, each with several skins that are more than just overlays of a default model.
With the exception of BFV, all previous games have only had 8 different character models with each side limited to 4 and at best, different coloured overlays. As the OP has discounted factions, then so will I.
As said before, 'lazy' is a very lazy argument against specialists.
As much as I disliked BFV, it did get customisation about right but then the 'community' didn't warm to it for some legitimate but mostly rediculous reasons.
Once the blue dot missing over friendlybheads was fixed, I can safely say I have not shot at a friendly Boris or not shot at an enemy Boris because of their model/skin.
Faction locking skins could be away to resolve the percieved problems.
