Helicopter Air to Air doesn't reward skill

Why "below radar" from BF4 needs to be added to an active passive for helicopters and jets,

Battlefield has always been the the best FPS at allowing a skill separation in gunfights and tiger fights. Making it so usually a better player can beat the less skilled player.

That is no longer true for Helicopter play.

Here is why-

Every attack helicopter has 2 AA missiles and a set of flares all on the same reload timer. Essentially whoever locks the other helicopter first is going to wing the dogfight guaranteed (unless the missile missed for no reason, which does happen) The only way to win a after being locked on first is to find cover to break the lock. Now on the City maps, with tall buildings this isn't a problem. But all of the other maps have no cover from AA missiles from high altitude. Making it so when a new helicopter spawns they almost always have advantage starting high overlooking the whole map with 4k res...

Not to mention, once you kill a few people they all spawn with AA missiles as hackers on the ground and again, most of the maps have a sever lack of substantial cover for helicopers.

Solution- Add Below Radar from BF4 that allows skilled pilots to fly flow to the ground to prevent getting locked. It still puts you in a low and vulnerable to rockets and tanks. and the enemy heli still has height advantage for gunner to shoot or missile pod. But forces skill to meet skill, rather than missile lock timing.

Currently Air to Air battles are boring, not requiring skill.

Anyone else agree??

I agree and want to add that we need the physics from BF3/4 too where you can dive quickly and get momentum.

It was so much fun to dive below radar and fly below the enemy Helicopter and raise again behind him and get in position for a good old TV Missile.

Speaking of TV Missiles: We need those back too. They made air combat so much more skillbased an fun. I miss 'em badly. Having not a single upgrade for Attack Helis gunners is so boring...

  • Agreed! Miss those physics...Also the tow missile is trash, too slow firing and traveling to be effective. Its boring just using AA missiles! Bring gunner seat secondary back!

Worst thing is that they didn't even bring TVs back into Portal.

And the physics are so poor that Jets are just flying Trashcans...

I do, somewhat, agree. I'd like to see quite a few additions to Vehicle upgrades and hope that these are released in the future, though for sure not in a battlepass. How BS would that be.

Below-radar is a passive ability that is not activated by any button.

    VEHICLE UPGRADES to be SEEN:

    • Helicopters (All)
      • Stealth Coating
      • Gyro Stabilizers
      • Literally anything new would be cool.
      • Lemme drop ammo crates and $#!T.

    @Nuke81

I didn't understand the reference, but this told me which bulleted point you were talking about 🙌

  • Below radar seems like a freaking necessity, I feel like below radar is not getting enough attention.

Every time im in a heli im just fodder for a server full of locks, my firepower may be a bother to some but not having below radar means if there's locks everywhere the heli is unusable.

I was just on the ground not in the air at all and a jet locked me and shot me, like WTF, are you freaking serious, how does an AA missile lock me on the ground?

Honestly, I kinda want my money back, this game is not a finished product, not fit for release.
