I also thibk assists are bugged out for AA launchers sometimes, so the data could be messed up on Dice side of how many people are actually hitting the Air vehicles with rockets.
I know alot of times I'm the one who pops the enemy flares and launch 2nd missle/get a hit, But I don't get final blow, and only get assists half the time if that.
Huge problem while in planes, never get assists vs other vehicles.

I play 99% of the time infantry and it is not easy to get an lock on to an helicopter when I play the objective
Every little thing like a tree or small beam are interrupting the lock on even if you can see 95% of the helicopter
If there are 2 helicopters, they clean nearly every Flag in the open in 90% of the time (depending of the skill of the pilot)
you need at least 3 Missiles in a short time to get down a nightbird so you need 3 player > one who will trigger the flair (so no points for him also it will cause an cooldown on the lockdown for all AA in this area) and then 2 rocket to kill (sometimes 3) but if buildings are close it is 10/90 that you get a hit..... and I think in only 10% of the time a good nightbird gets down
Also, the range for a lock of a mobile AA is small related to the range the helicopter can to damage.
The only thing is to try it every time and a lucky hit or maybe a chopper down....^^
- Necromantion4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@CountSero Two missiles max, sometimes one if you can maintain a lock will take down any heli. One hit is enough to take a chopper out of the equation for 2 min or so even at times

@Necromantioni was going for the kill, one hit is only a short break from around 30-40 sec at max
there are more threads against a infantry than against a chopper
