I took some 15 second captures last night to take a look at what was going on, because it's starting to feel like to me, server side lag compensation. I took clips where I felt like I got the drop on someone or should have won the gunfight and looked at them frame by frame. The pattern that I'm starting to see is something like this.
1. me - first hit. Usually upper chest
2. enemy - hit me. Directional hit marker
3. me - second hit. Dance either direction
4. enemy - hit me. doubled directional hit marker
5. me - third hit and starting to go down
6. enemy - third hit marker on me and I'm down
7. enemy at 56%
This is without headshots. Nine times out of ten if I get a headshot marker, it doesn't seem to count as I still lose the battle with the above pattern. I don't think it matters the enemies weapon though I've been dropped on the second shot a few times with SMGs from distance, but that's another discussion. Also, the stim gun registers about 50% of the time. I have video of me firing it, getting the audio queue that it hit, see the green mist and get no points and no healing occurs.
I used to have bad hit reg when I played on DSL, but this is sad for a modern game in 2022.
To kill anyone, it takes me half a clip and I can rarely get in 2 kills without reloading. It has become so bad that I get in the habit of reloading after every kill.

@EA_Atic are you interested in vids with dying too far behind a wall or you had plenty of those? Ping is under 30ms.

- LlamaWithKatana3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Mackstan71 Fun is to die from a grenade bhind the wall (not even broken, just solid object). Subcontractor prob was * and made those of paper or smth.

Unless they are willing to increase the tick rate to 60hz, reduce lag compensation AND give us a server browser, this will continue to happen to players with low pings. - LlamaWithKatana3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adamonic prob next game if ever sadly.
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@LlamaWithKatana not with this engine and their insistence to use MM over Server Browser. Also, with crossplay, they have to cater to the lowest specs, so 45hz is the max for the foreseeable future.
