Crossplay - Majority hate it for a plethora of reasons. It should be nothing more than a QoL feature. We certainly don't want it as the ONLY way to find a game.
Hitreg - Still totally broken. Bullets & rockets don't register.
Matchmaking improvements - Server browser, less players required to start a round & Player level grouping within or own squads to help limit frustration and promote teamwork and synergy
Community calendar game modes moved to Portal instead of taking over stapled modes of the franchise.
Proper map rotations within your game modes.
60hz minimum servers for smoother gameplay.
Fixing player skins resetting all the time seeing how your top priority and business model is to sell them.
A complete overhaul of balancing issues. (Headshot multipliers as an example) and better testing of your adjustments.
More QoL features - An example - The ability to ask for meds or ammo with just point and click (like spotting an enemy) instead of bringing up a selection menu of unnecessary options and then having to select one.
Specialist improvements - An example - (Angel) Vehicles can now change loadouts with Angels ammo crate.
I support all of these. However realistically I don't see most of it being realized this late in the game's lifecycle. As you indicated most of it has been requested for ages now with multiple long threads on these boards, yet DICE chooses to ignore this. Either they don't want to change it, or they are simply not capable to change it without breaking other stuff in the game.

@RanzigeRidder2 there's still time to further improve this game: (from EA's latest Earnings call.)

The BF franchise it hanging on a thread right now. They basically have one last chance to redeem themselves. It's unfortunate it's a couple years out. But, at least this give them time to make the game right.
If the next BF fails its probably the last nail in the coffin and I'd probably start looking for another game.
- RanzigeRidder22 years agoLegend@TheseusJason Time yes, money less. Everybody who ever considered buying this game will have done so be now. So revenue will be shrinking, depending on some cosmetic sales.
Besides that, development of the new BF game already is in full swing, so that’s where EA/Dice will put their resources. Leaving minimal resources on BF2042. - ATFGunr2 years agoLegend

I was reading they made billions off soccer and football live service, they don’t actually need BF to make money. It’s just some icing on their cake. I don’t see them sinking further development money into 2042 at all. I’m still shocked we got a season 6 & 7 really, I was expecting another abandonment like V.
- Alethes2 years agoSeasoned Ace@ATFGunr @RanzigeRidder2 you might be (unfortunately) 100% correct. I cannot however (or don't want to?) believe that until, say, Xmas '25, we'll be stuck with what we've got now.
Surely recycling old maps cannot be that resource-heavy...? All I expect until the next Battlefield is a plethora of maps released every 3 months. (And ironing of bugs here and there.) Paying the salaries of 3 FTE only for these purposes from now until mid-2025 should not be a big ask to EA/DICE.
