Backstory:
Yesterday in BFV I had one of the worse game days where in like 8 rounds I had on the other side at least one full platoon squad of reeeeeealy competitive players (the type with more than 50 kills in a CQ round as infantry) as well as the same squad being on the same team in subsequent rounds and even getting supplemented by more experienced players from other platoons. Meanwhile the were were like 5 people in my side with some decent performance and the rest were just getting slaughtered. Also most of the self respecting players who ended up in our team would quit to avoid the stomp, perpetuating the difference
Supposedly the "team switch" button was removed in BFV for balance reasons, yet people could still switch team if they had friends on one side just fine and the xbox players could always switch somehow from what I hear. I believe we can declare the removal of the "team switch" button to be a failed experiment since the stomps are still the same as in previous titles.
The removal of the team switch button just made it harder for a good squad to reliably move over to the underdog team to spice things up (if they had any sense of sport).
So:
What is going to happen with the team balance in 2042, will it be the same as BFV without any scrambling and no team switch button?
Will it be some attempts to do Skill Based Match Making?
Will it have some other attempts to help people fight players of their caliber (or their squads average caliber) or will it just be the same usual stomps that one will play they are not stuck on the receiving end of?
1st Question: I somehow think so, it will probably have a small change, but that is just my personal perspective.
2nd Question: That will only work if DICE would remove "server browser" and "server numbers" entirely, otherwise it will be abused anyway by just playing a few rounds "bad" and then you can join a free "meatgrinder" rounds probably and will also punish the good player for just a "relaxing" round.
3rd If I understand you correctly you want a ranked mode? Because it sounds to me like this.
By the way I am one of those "people" who are playing with 2 up to 3 squads on one site and can say it is very different... sometimes you are right, 5 rounds in a round mostly best squad of the entire match or team and then there is a round where the enemy is so strong because you was "switched" to the another team or very strong opponents joined... BUT the best rounds are still these rounds, when every team give their best and it's a very close end result like 1:0 or 10:0 but not when 400:0.
From my perspective:
DICE Should implement an ON/OFF Switch to let decide a "GENERAL" from a platoon if they want to play every match/round on the same site (if mates joining after) or not. Before you say NO please overthink "Battlfield is a TEAM based tactic shooter which use combined arms in a military scenario with squad base groups", so if you have a Platoon, why not using it? I can't speak for other platoons but for me personal I just want to play with good mates where I know I can count on them except of the blueberry who doesn't to their job as medic/support/recon well and doesn't capture objectives. So people should join "Platoons" who have the same "playstyle" without forcing them.
