Aside from the fact that tanks have never been OPs... so let's not generalize... but do you know how to prevent "someone to tear through the map"? With skill. Attrition was experimental in BF5 and didn't work, in fact it was scaled down patch after patch. Soldiers run out of ammo, but they can easily refuel. A vehicle that runs out of ammo, or even fuel, must turn half the map back into the middle of nowhere. It's not funny.
- @astroVB in BF the reason soldiers run out of ammo is to many ran classes that had no ammo, to make worst DICE failed to step the class to encourage users.
