@ElliotLHI just confirmed in-game in a sector that only has one flag and it doesn't count. You get a "Sector Defended" XP but not Objective Defended.... so this needs to be done on sectors with more than 1 flag.
This is really frustrating since only a few maps have 2 flags in the same sector. So you need to wait the rotation of those maps...

Orbital: A, B and C sectors
Renewal: A, C and D sectors
Kaleidoscope: A and C sectors
Manifest A and C sectors
Discarded: C sector
Exposure: B sector
Spearhead: A, C and E sectors
Reclaimed: C sector
Arica Harbor: B sector
Valparaiso: A, B and C sectors
That’s 10 out of the 18 maps, I wouldn’t call that only a few.
However I admit that such a mission with such unclear requirements should not have been in the final week.
Just look at how much unclarity it raised just on these boards alone. Just imagine some casual player that is not on these boards or follows content creators who explain game mechanics, but who wants to complete missions, he/she will be frustrated because of the vague description. As a game developer that should be the last you want, so why not put some more effort in making these missions clear in their description?
- @Critstopher still isn't working for me. Just played Reclaimed - we held the 2 C flags, and I killed people at both C1 and C2 trying to take the flag, and got zero progression on the Defensive kills mission....
Worked for me, just finished it 🙌
@MADMAC50KIdea is that one of the flags needs to be held by the enemy in the same sector. If your team holds both it won't work.
I finished it on Spearhead at the A1 - A2 and C1 - C2

This only works on Conquest. It only works on a sector that has two or more flags. It only works if the enemy controls one of the flags. You have to be on the flag that your team controls and kill an enemy inside that capture zone. You'll know it's working if you see an XP message at the bottom of your screen for "Objective Defended." If you see "Sector Defended" instead, it's not going to count.
