I am having a really hard time killing people in game

I have watched setting videos and how not to suck videos but I am still having a great deal of trouble getting kills in 2042. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am a long time battlefield player and really want to like this game but it is painful for me right now.

Start a co-op game of Conquest on Manifest.

Then shoot at those containers that leave bullet holes.

That’s a great way of practicing shooting.

If your bullets are all over the place, you may have trouble handling your gun.

Pull down a little when you shoot to control recoil.

And check that your aim settings are neither too high or too low.

All great advice. One thing that has helped me is using infra-red (Thermal)scopes. I'm able to see the enemy players more clearly and get off better shots. But I feel your frustration,  I still feel like I lose every one on one situation sometimes. Just keep at it, try some of the things that are suggested in this thread, sooner or later you'll have a good round that will renew your faith in your shooting

Like all BF games, they are all different a bit. I recently went back to BF4 and BFV. I had a really hard time killing anyone in there and i used to be good on those games. When 2 years ago i started to play BF2042 i had a hard time too. You need time and keep playing.

  • @pale_rider4 One thing hard to understand about 2042 is just how bad the netcode is. With crossplay on, it’s a crap shoot if you get a server with a reasonable average latency for all players or one where you’re milliseconds behind the majority. I usually have a ping of 27 for example. The average server latency can get up to about 40 before I suddenly can’t hit anything but get melted in a second. I’ll get games where I have 27 and 60, I’ll either leave and try again or just hang back and snipe until the next map while I pray for a better server connection next round. Under Options you can turn on network graphs that will show you your connection. Try turning crossplay off and going to a TDM match. At most it will have a couple of players and bot backfill. See if you still have the trouble hitting targets. In most cases, I blame the crossplay on networks for a lot of the issues of hit registration and lag.
