- Anobix3 years agoSeasoned Ace@UP_Hawxxeye Truthfully, I don't like that particular change, but at the moment (depending on the gun) there's almost no reason to not take the drum mag on many of the weapons/a reason to opt for the extended mag (if available). Obviously, reload time is a bit faster already, but I guess will allow for larger loadout changes?

@Anobixlitteraly nobody complained about drum mags. One is not supposed to nerf them. Instead they should be buffing the other mags with reload speed or total reserve bullets.
The drum mags already have a slower reload why would a magazine size would affect the ADS time of anything?
As I said in another thread, I don't understand the ADS penalty either, I could see a longer reload time when using it or when switching to the drum magazine if they are trying to encourage using the other magazines.
- @Ironhead841 Of course I am willing to bet that the devs know very little about firearms, ballistics, and even military hardware.
- UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend@Ironhead841 The problem is that instead of encouraging using other mags, they try to discourage using drum mags.
They take the negative reinforcement approach which is bad even for training dogs - RaginSam3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ironhead841 Heavier weapon, not as easy to handle. That's what the handling stat reflects?
How much of an increase though? It already has a slower ADS speed?
Every weapon and it's attachments needs it's place. Otherwise what's the point of having a bunch of different weapons? I just never seen much of a clamor for this change, so it struck me as a little weird is all.
*EDIT*
And if they are going to with that logic, as someone who has actually fired a .50 cal. rifle, running around like a maniac, shouldering it and standing while firing it needs to come to an end then.
- RaginSam3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ironhead841 LOL, for real. Although, I like being one of those types running around with a big gun.
It's more like a slight penalty for going with a bigger mag. What's the point of running a smaller one? Faster reload? I guess it could just be a tradeoff.
I just went though the notes and didn't see any numbers given though. I don't think it's needed either, but if we're talking 20ms slower time or something, I think that's fine. Just nothing crazy that compromises the feel of the game.

/runs to objective with ntw, then drops gun and pukes when gets there....
- Anobix3 years agoSeasoned Ace@RaginSam I watched Ender's youtube video that had a replay from one of the preview segments - https://youtu.be/xE7syVD-YyA?t=399
time stamped for it.
Wonder if it will stay that way, it's quite slow. Although I want to see a side-by-side. He also plays McKay quite a bit as well, so I can imagine that being an even bigger change depending.
