Yeah, just to be clear I am NOT suggesting they should do that to the heavy rifles.
From the video that @UP_Hawxxeye is referring to, the slower ADS time does look pretty significant.
LOL exactly!
They are beefy bois! Until you actually pick one up it's hard to explain how HEAVY the damn things actually are.

@RaginSamI watched Ender's youtube video that had a replay from one of the preview segments - https://youtu.be/xE7syVD-YyA?t=399
time stamped for it.
Wonder if it will stay that way, it's quite slow. Although I want to see a side-by-side. He also plays McKay quite a bit as well, so I can imagine that being an even bigger change depending. Thanks for the link.
It does look really slow, I'd say too slow. I wished that they would just share the actual data. I like seeing the numbers.
Mackay has no effect on ADS speed, just strafing speed while he's ADS compared to other Specialist I believe.
- ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@UP_Hawxxeye Drums already come with a handling penalty, and I find the box mags really do offer a quicker response. The accuracy of the SFAR with a drum is pretty crazy though, so in this case I can get on board with some level of penalty such as accuracy, wider spray or more of a handling penalty. They probably only have so many options to choose from though. A drum mag adds significant weight, ammo is darn heavy, so slowing down being able to lift it up for aimed fire actually makes some sense. It’s why in RL an LMG is far more accurate laying down, you need to be an NFL linebacker to fire an LMG in aimed fire and even then they’d tire.

It's ridiculous how they even come up with stuff like this..

One of the leads is even an Ex pro FPS player.
I wonder if he approved that or it if it is not within his authority
- @UP_Hawxxeye Yeah devs need to execute Order 66 on this drum mag rubbish asap before the update arrives. Terrible choice.
- UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend@UNL1M1T3D_P0W3R considering this is a stealth change, many people will start to wonder why others can kill them faster than they can.
I am a bit puzzled by how there was no community manager reply to confirm or deny this change so far. They are usually chiming in for those topics - UP_LordPlumber3 years agoSeasoned Ace@UP_Hawxxeye Weird change, but necessary. There is 0 reason to run any other mag on Scar-H, MP9 or K30
Personally, I think drum mags shouldn't even be in the game in the first place because of balancing reasons. Its hard to make them work right. Either overpowered because everything else is inferior, or its useless and everything else is better.
Right now most cancer mechanic is Macay with drum Scar or K30 zooming&nooming around the map at Mach 10 while ADSing and holding down the trigger
I still think higher side-to-side recoil would've been better though. Leave your suggestions, Dice might change it in the future. @UP_LordPlumber Agreed, like you said in theory impossible to balance so why add in the first place.
Using the M16A3 is the perfect example. In some fights when you engage at a disadvantage you often don’t have enough bullets to kill the target. So instead you prolly shouldn’t have engaged like you did or picked a path with too many enemies, or waited for a better shot. That just disappears when you have that little extra and why it makes no sense. Running the M16A3 you have that constant feeling like you missing out. Having 40-60 bullets just dumbs down the game takes away the tactics, positioning everything.
Please non of this in the next title
