128 player breakthrough has the potential to be utterly amazing fun and insane. And usually it is. I just think that there needs to be some balance changes to give defenders a better chance, since teamwork is more required on the defending side, so they should have a little bit more cover, a little bit less vehicles coming at them, etc.
But yes i love the game and I want to see what they add to it. Its all ive played since it came out. I want to play other games, but I just get addicted to this.
Specialists are a decent idea but I do think there should be limited loadouts by class still, even when you pick a specialist, it should still be part of a class loadout.
I enjoy the game too even with the oft mentioned problems. The game is playable and I get what I want out of the game. Lots can be improved but I would prefer to comment on what we as players can do, when possible, to improve any particular round. I play almost exclusively as Maria Falck. So I do as much healing as I possibly can. What can and does irk me is players who only focus on themselves and not on the bigger whole. Im talking about the players who get dropped and hit the force respawn immediately even though Falck is close by to help and even worse is attempting to heal you. Putting yourself in danger to help a downed mate and to help the team in general becomes tiresome when facing the likes of those who only care to get back to their stats and self serving style of play. No matter what at least at the end of the game I feel good to have done what I could and I can laugh at those who prefer lone wolf to actual teamplay.
- 4 years ago@CascadiaSRL I play 128 and in that context squads are still best however there are times when it’s just not practical. The situational strategy of the team over rides the need to return to a squad.
As for respawn I will lye there to keep my sg going but no one wants to revive. Some will most don’t. Even with a Ranger and sg up knowing that if I die they do as well no revive.
Another thing is it’s bad idea sometimes given the situation as to risk another player.- 4 years ago@k1u73 LOL, I agree with all your points. Just that there are a lot of times that I am proven out.
- 4 years ago@CascadiaSRL Ya and I think it’s becomes habit and sure it’s just selfish play as well.
I also feel it’s class related in this game. Snipers want to snipe from afar and a solo sort etc.
I like defending but very few do and once I’m forced out go on the offensive and my assigned squad is all over the map lol

If these players who tap out were obsessing over their stats, you'd think they would wait for you, no? I mean if they're just after the stats, then an extra death is not what they want. This suggests that the reasons players tap out are different from what you are suggesting.
- It could be force of habit because of how easy it is to get separated from your squad and how bad most medics are.
- It could be because the downed player has been separated from their squad and they see a spawn in a more advantageous position than they are now.
- It could be because they don't really want to be attacking C1 but they got in a blueberry's vehicle and got driven there.
- It could be because the medic range indicator is broken and they think you're not coming for them.
The game does a poor job of advertising that there are players nearby whom you can revive. Just last night I was playing on Hourglass, got killed by a sniper and fell into cover next to a squadmate, who promptly... ran off. I challenged him in squad chat about it, and he said he just didn't notice. I main Falck and I can sympathise with this. The UI will highlight a downed squadmate, but the marker is faint, and often it's highlighting someone who is 600m from your position, while the blue non-squadmate marker doesn't seem to show players that aren't in your direct line of sight very well, if at all. If you compare the markers with those in BFV, the difference is stark. Then there's no integrated VOIP so you can ask a squadmate for a revive...
- 4 years ago@filthy_vegans Since k/d really means squat in this game as far as Im concerned then tapping out would suggest to me that they want that awesome #1 ranking at the end of the game.
- It could be force of habit but not in the way that you suggest either. It is easy to get separated from your squad because * happens and probably because you cant stand the way or where your mates want to play. There are some bad medics out there but dont show ignorance please by using such a big paintbrush.
- Yeah the range indicator is not perfect but I can usually tell if someone is coming or not by using a second or two of patience. I hope that some fine tuning is given to this in the future.
I will tap out like lots of players do so that I can protect others when I will only get them killed trying to save me. Common sense should always prevail but there will always be those "me first" types in any game.- filthy_vegans4 years agoSeasoned Ace

They would therefore want to remain close to that fight, for the stats, no?

Most medics who play 2042 are objectively awful at their jobs, to the extent that I wonder why they select Falck at all.

Common sense should always prevail but there will always be those "me first" types in any game. This undermines your thesis that the players who tap out are doing it "for the stats" - you yourself do it to prevent others from dying. How do you know the ones you bemoan aren't doing the same for you? You asked me to not "show ignorance;" I would point out that you are doing exactly that. Physician, heal thyself.
