I love this game. Here's some overview and positive feedback for a change.

I love this game. I really do. Sure there's bugs here and there, but for me nothing game breaking. But after 83 hours of fun there's some positive criticism that i think it would help the game to grow better. Not going into "nerf this/buff that/fix this", here's an overview of the game so far:

- Operators are fun and bring variety to the game. It's just a matter of getting used to them. Engineers should be able to lock on to vehicles faster as their passive, as falck can revive faster too.

- Right now the game doesn't offer much variety when it comes to 2042 modes without vehicles. Conquest and breakthrough. When i have friends that bought the game to play with me that's their number one issue. They die too many times to vehicles over and over again. Rush 2042 was the best entry point to the game in my opinion.

- Free for all feels like a rushed under developed mode without much thought put into it. Really unbalanced and the maps are not cut to hold those kinda matches. Portal maps are way more suited for this matter. Bad company 2 squad deathmatch and bf3 close quarters dlc maps would be a nice addition.

- Portal mode is a novelty mode. It's fun for one match or two, but if I wanted to play those old games I would just launch those old games. It's like listening to a CD that you really loved when you were a kid. You can go back to it and still enjoy it but not as much as before. Why not implement those old maps and modes into 2042 too?

- Please focus on rush and conquest. BF is all about rush in my opinion, its a unique mode that you can't find in any other shooter. I don't fancy battle royals flavor of the month, or tarkov clones. Please put more love into rush and conquest.

Anyone else feel the same? Please keep the bitching and nagging to yourself, i'm 42 y.o. i don't need angry joe's reviews to teach me how to think. Be mature, positive criticism only please.

@filthy_vegans Since k/d really means squat in this game as far as Im concerned then tapping out would suggest to me that they want that awesome #1 ranking at the end of the game.

    - It could be force of habit but not in the way that you suggest either. It is easy to get separated from your squad because * happens and probably because you cant stand the way or where your mates want to play. There are some bad medics out there but dont show ignorance please by using such a big paintbrush.

    - Yeah the range indicator is not perfect but I can usually tell if someone is coming or not by using a second or two of patience. I hope that some fine tuning is given to this in the future.

I will tap out like lots of players do so that I can protect others when I will only get them killed trying to save me. Common sense should always prevail but there will always be those "me first" types in any game.

If they were killed and there is a nearby medic, it suggests that there is a fight there or thereabouts. They would therefore want to remain close to that fight, for the stats, no?

Most medics who play 2042 are objectively awful at their jobs, to the extent that I wonder why they select Falck at all.

This undermines your thesis that the players who tap out are doing it "for the stats" - you yourself do it to prevent others from dying. How do you know the ones you bemoan aren't doing the same for you? You asked me to not "show ignorance;" I would point out that you are doing exactly that. Physician, heal thyself.

Well seeing as there are only three bolt action and two semi auto rifles in the game (and both the SARs are largely ineffective, even at the engagement ranges their designation suggests), I'd offer that most players will enjoy automatic weapons as they are the go-to kit for actually killing people - I certainly do. If we are to play the hand we have been dealt (which is what we must do until the weapon balance issues are adequately addressed), then I would ask you to consider taking the AC-42 and putting it in single-fire mode for longer range engagements and 3-round burst for closer range engagements. It's a beast.

For me, these issues mean that a balance pass on the weapons is in order - there aren't enough downsides to using high rate-of-fire weapons, and the upsides for using semi-autos, for example, aren't significant enough.

That the player in question might enjoy winning gunfights is a weird thing to be annoyed about.

  • @UP_KillScreenI agree with most 9f it especially on Bias angry reviews when hes always been the most casual BF player barely achieving few hours on each BF since BF3 most 9f it in campaign mode . All he did in his review was using Reddit clips of bugs some that ive never encounter once in 400+ hours of playtime thus far and he simply perroted reddit hivemind sets by a vocal minority who make themselves as if they were majority hitting the game PR hard for those only willing to follow trends ...

Anyway regardless this is the best BF launch since BF2 , there is some issues here and there but specialist , 128 players and 5 out of 7 maps are not the issues ..
1: Issue is Player lobby are to small we should be able to assemble 4 squads of friend to matchmake with ..16 players up to 4 squads of friends
2: We should have command structure 1 Officer in charge 4 platton leader 8 squads leaders and VOIP command chanel to coordinate squads efforts ..

3: VOIP Proximity , squad , platoon and command

4 : jets need to be rebalanced so they dont rasoly dominate air and ground vehicles

    5: In game clans support

    • 6 : these 5 are the main issues once fix the game will be 100x time better already

And the officer and platoon leaders could voip just between each other, like MAG (ps3) used to be. I like the way your thinking indeed. The immersion when that happen really improves the experience by a ton.

  • Portal offers "Browse" with different hosted servers. This has been pretty good so far. Just adding a pro to portal since you didn't mention it. 🙂

Cross platform will require Voice Chat, Discord or any other service work ok, but you have to have 2 sound output and only 1 input. I would prefer to chat with my teammates in game, thx.

As per the focus on Rush and Conquest, Breakaway is a decent one as well! I would like to see a regular TDM somewhere in Portal.

That musical chair mode is not appealing for me.

  • Tehen-the OP said he was 42 yrs old. and wanted squad deathmatch back like in BF2.

  • Hi everyone,

I've locked this thread as it hadn't been active for a few years until recently.

However, anyone who wants to continue the discussion is most welcome to create a new thread.
