- UP_LordPlumber3 years agoSeasoned Ace@OskooI_007 It doesn't matter what engine you use if your developers have no talent and/or experience.
It all comes down to people and expertise. - sk1lld3 years agoLegend
BioWare stated that coding with the Frostbite engine was like coding with razor blades. Maybe going to the Unreal engine would speed things along. And there are bound to be more people familiar with the Unreal engine that getting good coders would be easier.

If they have succeeded in releasing a game that is completely different from the previous one, with an engine that you constantly point out is difficult to work on.
They have also created Portal, so that you can do something yourself. Then you can't accuse those who work with the engine of being completely lacking in knowledge.
They should have gone over obstacles, more difficult than any automatic system, which was the point of this thread.
Don't you think the fault lies elsewhere, rather than in the engine and those who work with it.
They really do need to start using a different engine. Frostbite was always difficult to work with and despite it's age, it hasn't improved in either usability or optimisation. It's over 15 years old. It's time to retire it.

If EA has to pay royalties for using a 3rd part engine, there’s no way in hell they’ll do it.
They’re more likely to have an engine built from scratch in-house if they should conclude that Frostbite isn’t suitable any longer.
- UP_LordPlumber3 years agoSeasoned Ace@VOLBANKER_PC They already pay royalties for UE4
Would have been nice to see those graphics in BF2042, but we got what we got, maybe some day in a future Battlefield we will see something like this.
