I fully concur with all your reasons, sadly BF2042 is simply not fun to play.
Mainly because of the direction taken and also because there are way too many essential elements missing that made previous BF's great.
We are not able to play the game the way we choose and are therefore being forced to play maps / modes that we don't want to play, and conversely unable to play those that we like.
It's a shame really, BF has been my go to FPS game for so long so I hate ti see its downfall.
The social / community aspect was always one of the main attractions for me and I am sure many others, but that sadly is currently lacking in BF2042.
I realy wonder what EA and DICE view is on why people are leaving this game.
i'll probably be done with this game when they half * the class system and ruin the loadouts i have been running since launch by locking gadgets. but the snipers will still have their ammo box because they aren't locking weapons (or in the case of angel or falk they'll have ammo AND health AND sniper rifles AND be able to revive each other when they bunch up on their rock)

I have been close for weeks. Barely played after T1 in Season 1.
It seems like the rock/paper/scissors component is missing between infantry, vehicles, and aircraft. Then you add zero teamwork functionality and the game feels extremely hollow, which is unfortunate. With the vehicle and aircraft classes, several vehicles are never played. When is the last time you have seen a Bolte lol?
Before in Conquest, capping a point was important, if it was a critical (center) point, you stayed and defended after capping with at least 5-6 others, sometimes 2-3 squads while others were capping or defending other flags. Now I move around Conquest and cap an empty flag, then move to another and maybe fight one or two enemies. Rarely is there a major engagement (at least for me). It is incredibly boring. Everything feels disconnected (me>squad>team>objectives>strategy).
It might be the map design as well. Caspian is really good at this, team spawns are pretty far away from the objectives, then the flags are all somewhat clustered together in the middle of the map with decent cover for infantry, but also clear routes for vehicles. Most of these maps lack both of those somehow.
That is all in game stuff, then you have the fact that you cannot choose the map you want to play and the only way to join is via MM. That kills it for me before I even get into a game. I know my first join is going to be an existing game on the losing team near the end of the match. So I have to suffer through 5 minutes of terrible gameplay getting steamrolled just to get back into the queue for a new game, but then I am now waiting for players after playing a match full of them. I start the round with half the team as bots and then see other players joining mid-round just like I did the last match. It is an endless loop of suck. They need to address this and add a Server Browser.
